These from santa gift tags printable free sheets turn an ordinary wrapped box into something that looks like it rode down from the North Pole. Across the set you get scalloped tags, luggage tags, round tags, ovals, stars and more, each one carrying a small piece of the Santa story: his hat and boots, the sack of toys, the sleigh on the roof, the plate of cookies, the workshop door. Write one name on each and tuck it under the ribbon on Christmas morning.
Print the sheets on printable sticker paper if you want the tags to peel and stick straight onto a box, or use plain matte paper and a glue stick for a sturdier tag you punch a hole in. Print at actual size rather than letting the printer scale the page, then cut around each tag leaving a thin white edge so the ink does not look cropped.
Using these images: free for personal projects such as printing, coloring, cards, journals and gifts. Handmade items that include them may be sold up to 30 pieces per design. More than that is commercial use and is not permitted, and neither is selling or sharing the images themselves or passing them off as your own. Please ask before any other use.
Sleigh and Chimney
Give the scalloped tag with Santa’s red hat to the gift you want opened first, and save the luggage tag with his black boots for a pair of pajamas or slippers.
The round tag with the sack of toys works well as a big, general North Pole label for any gift that does not fit a narrower idea. Write the child’s name across the open space and leave the rest of the sheet for the next few presents.
Cutting the arched tag with the sleigh on the snowy roof asks for a bit of care around the curved top edge: a small craft knife gets into that inner curve more cleanly than scissors.
Pair it with the rectangular label showing reindeer hoofprints in snow for a trail of gifts that look like Santa walked right across the living room. The round tag with the chimney and the oval tag with his round spectacles finish the sheet and suit smaller, quieter gifts.
The luggage tag with the plate of cookies and glass of milk is the natural choice for anything food related, from a jar of homemade fudge to a tin of shortbread passed between neighbours.
If you keep a Christmas card doodles page nearby, the square tag with Santa’s black belt and gold buckle and the round tag with a red mitten pair nicely with it for matching cards and tags on the same gift.
The scalloped tag with a sprig of holly suits anything wrapped in plain paper that needs a little colour, and the bookmark strip with a row of tiny reindeer makes a lovely slip inside a book instead of a tag on the outside.
Workshop Keepsakes
Print the oval tag with the vintage skeleton key and the round tag with the pocket watch on sticker paper for gifts that are themselves small keepsakes, like a locket or a watch passed down in the family.
The rectangular label with the envelope closed with a wax seal reads like a letter from the North Pole itself, so leave room underneath to write who the gift is really from.
The star-shaped tag with a gold star, the luggage tag with an elf hat, the round tag with a little workshop hammer and the ticket label with a wooden toy soldier all belong to gifts for a child who loves to build and make things, so send these toward toy sets, blocks or a craft kit.
On the Roof
The house-shaped tag with a snowy rooftop and chimney smoke sits well on a bigger box, while the round tag with a reindeer face and the scalloped tag with a striped candy stick suit stockings and smaller stocking stuffers.
The ticket label with the striped North Pole post and the round tag with a snow globe of Santa’s cottage work as a pair for anything gifted between two sisters or close friends who both love Christmas.
Give the oval tag with a teddy bear to a soft toy, and the square tag with a spinning top to anything small, wrapped and wound up with an actual ribbon on top.
Letters to Santa
The luggage tag with a red mailbag of letters and the round tag with a quill pen fit beautifully onto a gift that came with a handwritten note tucked inside, and the arched tag with a jar of reindeer food sprinkles is the obvious choice for anything left out on the doorstep on Christmas Eve.
Keep this sheet for the gift that arrives last on Christmas morning: the cloud tag with a crescent moon and a flying reindeer, the round tag with a bright star, the rectangular label with a lantern and the scalloped label with a fir tree all carry that quiet, late night feeling of Santa still out there somewhere over the rooftops.
Under the Tree
The circle label with a gingerbread elf suits a baking gift, and the luggage tag with a stack of wrapped parcels works for anyone who is passing along several small presents tied together as one.
If you already print pages from the toy shop junk journal set, the mitten-shaped tag with fur trim and the round tag with a pair of ice skates will feel like they came from the same shelf.
The oval tag with a woolly red stocking rounds the sheet off nicely for anything small enough to fit in an actual stocking rather than under the tree.
By the Fire
The scalloped tag with Santa’s armchair by the fire, the round tag with a mug of cocoa, the ticket label with a reading lamp and the square tag with a knitted scarf all suit a gift meant for a cosy night in, a book, a blanket or a set of slippers wrapped for someone who likes to curl up and slow down.
Send the luggage tag with a sack bursting with dolls and drums, the round tag with a toy airplane and the bracket label with a wooden train car to the toy pile under the tree, where the youngest members of the family will be looking first.
Christmas Eve Magic
The star-shaped tag with a magic key, the oval tag with a snowy pine, the round tag with a lit candle and the rectangular label with a silver bell fit the quiet gifts left out for Christmas Eve itself, before the stockings are even filled.
Writing on the round tag with reindeer antlers and holly works well for a wish rather than a name, something short the gift giver wants the receiver to feel on Christmas morning.
The luggage tag with Santa’s red coat on a hook and the scalloped tag with a pair of white gloves finish this section, and both take plain paper and a glue stick just as well as sticker paper if you are making tags in a hurry.
Last Minute Gifts
The arched tag with the workshop door and a wreath, the round tag with toy paint pots, the ticket label with a wooden duck on wheels and the square tag with a jack in the box round off the toy themed tags for anyone wrapping gifts for a houseful of small children this year.
Short on time on Christmas Eve, just the cloud tag with snowflakes gets a gift ready in five minutes: print, cut, punch a hole, done.
The round tag with a gold chocolate coin and the oval tag with a peppermint stick suit stocking sweets, and the rectangular label with a lump of coal is there for the family joke gift everyone is expecting.
What to Do Next
Print the sheets you need most first, cut a stack of tags in one sitting, and keep the rest ready for the next gift that needs a little North Pole magic.
Frequently Asked Questions
What paper works best for these Santa gift tags?
Printable sticker paper works best if you want a tag that peels and sticks straight onto a box without glue. Matte cardstock suits tags you want to punch a hole in and tie on with twine or ribbon instead.
What printer settings should I use?
Print at actual size, not fit to page, so the tags come out the same size across every sheet. Choose the best or photo quality setting on your printer so the fine outlines stay crisp rather than fuzzy.
How do I cut around the curved tags neatly?
Leave a thin white border around each tag rather than cutting right up to the ink line, since it is far more forgiving if your hand slips. A small craft knife helps with tight inner curves like the scalloped edges and the star points.
Can I use these tags inside a junk journal instead of on a gift?
Yes, the tags glue flat onto a journal page just as easily as they tie onto a box. Trim off any punched hole and use them as a small decorated label beside a journal entry or photo.
What should I write on a blank Santa tag?
Write the child’s name, a short wish for Christmas morning, or simply From Santa in your own handwriting. The open space on each tag is sized for a short line or two, not a full letter.
