Table of Contents
This tea party junk journal kit gives you 27 full page sheets built around lace, china and little cakes: nothing to colour in and nothing to cut out, just finished pages ready to glue straight into a journal. The set runs 19 scene pages (gardens, dressers, tea shops, market stalls), then 4 seamless background patterns of teacups, sugar cubes and florals, then 4 lined writing pages bordered in the same motifs for your own notes.
Print on medium weight paper, around 160 to 200gsm, so the washes do not show through and the sheet still folds well. Set your printer to its best or photo quality setting for smooth colour, then trim each page to your journal size with a paper trimmer or sharp scissors before gluing it in.
Using these images: free for personal projects such as printing, coloring, cards, journals and gifts. Handmade items that include them may be sold up to 30 pieces per design. More than that is commercial use and is not permitted, and neither is selling or sharing the images themselves or passing them off as your own. Please ask before any other use.
Garden Tea Scenes
Tiered cake stand, a lace cloth and a scatter of rose petals sit at the centre of this spread, with a painted hedge and soft afternoon sky filling the space behind the table.
Pair this one with the teacup pattern page further on in the set: lay the dresser scene on the left of a spread and let the pattern show through a torn edge on the right, so the shelf seems to continue onto the next sheet.
Blanket, basket and a low table of sandwiches sit on a painted lawn under a line of trees, with bunting strung loosely overhead and a scatter of daisies at the edges of the cloth.
Leave the bottom third of this page bare of lines when you glue it in. Write a short line about the weather or the company under the arbour, right where the climbing roses frame the open space.
Parlour and Dresser Scenes
Try the five minute version: paint only the top shelf of cups fully, suggest the lower shelves with loose washes of colour, and let the painted wood frame carry the rest of the page.
The usual mistake here is matching every cup to its saucer, which flattens the charm of the scene. Paint each pairing slightly different in pattern and colour, so the table reads as collected over years rather than bought as a set.
Keep the tablecloth folds loose and let one cup sit slightly off its saucer, as if just set down between pours.
Good for the reader who collects actual teapots: leave a line of space beside the shelf for her to note where each one came from, a market, a gift, a grandmother’s cupboard.
What would you tuck onto this page: a pressed flower, a torn ticket stub, a few lines copied from a letter. Leave a small gap near the tray edge where something thin could sit flat under the glue.
Tea Shop Scenes
Pastel walls, a striped awning and a window of pastries make the front of this little tea shop, with a chalkboard sign and two small chairs waiting just outside the door.
Fold this page in half before gluing it in, so the counter opens like a short spread: cakes on the left panel, a price list scrawled in the corner of the right, with the painted shop wall running behind both halves.
Stack of labelled tea tins, loose leaves in small paper cones and a hanging scale fill this market stall, with a striped cloth canopy and a painted row of other stalls fading behind it.
Ask yourself before writing here: what did the tea taste like, and who sat across the table. A short answer under the corner table scene turns it into a real entry rather than a caption.
Quiet Corners and Still Life
Tear the right edge of this page roughly before gluing it in, so the window seat looks half torn from an older book, with soft light and a painted garden view spilling past the torn line.
An opened letter, a pressed flower and a half finished cup of tea sit together on a lace runner, with a soft painted wash of afternoon light behind the whole still life.
Stain the bottom edge of this page with weak tea before it dries fully, then glue it in once flat. The faint tide line sits naturally below the basket, as though crumbs once rested there.
One teapot, one cup and a thin stream of painted steam sit on a narrow sill, with rain softly washed across the window glass and a grey garden painted beyond it.
This one suits a reader who loves tiny details more than big scenes, the kind who will search out every sugar cube and spoon. Leave a sliver of space near the bowl for a short list of favourite teas.
Three tiers of finger sandwiches, a small jar of pickle and a folded napkin sit stacked on this stand, with a soft blush coloured wash painted across the whole background.
Pair this page with the lace pattern background later in the set: use the pattern as a facing page so the rose teapot seems to sit on a printed cloth that continues across the spread.
Background Papers
Scatter this teacup and sugar cube print behind a photo of a real tea party, line the inside of a journal cover with it, or use it as a soft divider page between sections of the book.
Works well under a photo of a table setting, as a cover wrap for the whole journal, or torn into strips for a border along the edge of another page.
Use this small rosebud print as a soft wrap behind a dried flower, a lining for the back cover, or a backdrop for a photo taken at a garden tea.
Good behind a recipe clipping, as a journal cover base, or layered under a scene page with a torn window cut to let a single teapot shape peek through.
Lined Writing Pages
Write down a favourite tea blend, the shop where you found it, or a short note on how to brew it properly across these ruled lines.
List who is coming to tea, what each guest likes to drink, or who hosted the last gathering, right along these lined rows under a narrow band of lace.
Copy out a recipe for scones or small cakes, note a change you made to it, or write a short memory of baking them for a gathering.
Write a short letter to next year’s tea party here: what to serve, who to invite, what went well this time, with the ruled lines left open for however long it runs.
What to Do Next
Print the full set, trim each sheet to your journal size, and start gluing from the garden tea table through to the last lined page. Frequently Asked Questions
What paper works best for these tea party junk journal pages?
Choose a medium weight matte paper, around 160 to 200gsm, so the soft watercolour washes stay rich and nothing shows through from the back. Plain printer paper will work in a pinch but feels thin once folded, and bright white paper looks less at home with the aged cream tone of this set.
What printer settings give the best colour on these pages?
Set your printer to its highest quality or photo setting and choose matte or plain paper in the print dialog rather than glossy photo paper. This keeps the muted dusty rose and sage tones true and stops the ink from pooling or smearing on the page.
What size should I print the pages for a junk journal?
Print at full letter or A4 size if your journal pages run large, or shrink to fit on your printer’s scale setting for a smaller handmade book. Trim each sheet to the exact size of your journal with a paper trimmer once the ink is fully dry.
Do I need to colour or decorate these pages myself?
No, every page arrives fully finished in colour and ready to use as is. All that is left for you to do is trim it to size, glue it into your journal, and add your own handwriting on the lined pages.
Can I mix these pages with other junk journal kits?
Yes, the soft dusty rose and sage palette pairs easily with other vintage or botanical kits. Keep the paper tone similar across kits so the pages read as one book rather than several mismatched sets glued together.
