These christmas journal stickers follow the quiet side of the season at home: the reading nook, the candle on the desk, the tray carried up to bed. Each of the 22 sheets holds five or six small objects from one cosy corner of a slow Christmas, ready to scatter across journal spreads, planner weeks and handmade cards.
Print each sheet on sticker paper for a peel and stick page, or on plain paper if you prefer to glue each piece down by hand. Print at actual size rather than letting the printer scale to fit, and leave a thin white edge around each shape when you cut so the ink does not get clipped.
Using these images: free for personal projects such as printing, coloring, cards, journals and gifts. Handmade items that include them may be sold up to 30 pieces per design. More than that is commercial use and is not permitted, and neither is selling or sharing the images themselves or passing them off as your own. Please ask before any other use.
Fireside and Books
This sheet gathers a wingback chair, a reading lamp, a knitted throw, a stack of books with blank covers, a cup of tea and a pair of glasses, all the small signs of a corner set aside for reading.
Tuck the chair or the lamp into the corner of a daily journal spread to mark a reading day, and save the blank book stack for a page where you want to write in the titles yourself. This pairs well with a reading log spread if you keep track of what you finish each winter.
Stack blank book covers next to the cup of tea sticker for a shelf of winter reading that you can label by hand once it is printed and cut out.
Kitchen and Baking
A potted rosemary, a jar of cinnamon sticks, a gingerbread cookie jar, a cup of coffee and a tea towel sit together here, the small still life of a windowsill that catches morning light.
Print this one on plain paper if you plan to glue the jar and the cookie jar onto a kitchen themed journal page, since the flatter finish sits nicely under washi tape borders. It also works well scattered along the edge of a recipe card.
Baking day calls for its own sheet: a stand mixer, a cookie sheet, a rolling pin, a flour canister, an apron and a cooling rack, enough pieces to fill a whole spread about the kitchen table.
Leave a thin white border when you cut around the mixer and the rolling pin, since their curved handles are the trickiest part of the shape. A small craft knife makes quick work of the narrow gap under the cooling rack’s wire feet.
Letters and Desk
A fountain pen, an ink bottle, a stack of envelopes, a wax seal stamp, a desk lamp and a notebook make up this sheet, built for anyone who keeps a little correspondence going through December.
Fill an envelope or send a parcel without ever leaving the page: this sheet carries a red mailbox, a stamped envelope, a parcel, a bundle of cards tied together, a postcard with a robin and a letter opener.
Stick the mailbox or the parcel near the edge of a card you are sending by actual post, so the sticker frames the message rather than competing with it. The robin postcard pairs nicely with the winter walk sheet further down this set.
Light and Advent
Six kinds of candlelight sit on one sheet here: a pillar candle, a brass taper, a jar candle, an advent candle ring, a candle snuffer and a box of matches, useful for any page about slow evenings.
Mark the days without numbers getting in the way: an advent calendar house with no numbers, a tiny door, a little drawer, a star, a felt pocket and a sweet wrapped in foil give you the pieces to build your own counting page.
Since none of these carry printed numbers, you can write a date or a short line under each one by hand, which makes the sheet useful across more than one December. Pair it with the Christmas candles sheet for a two page advent spread.
Slow Evenings
A plaid pajama set, a pair of slippers, a robe, a hot water bottle, a sleep mask and a pillow cover this sheet, the small comforts of getting ready for an early night.
Six pieces of a fireside evening: a fire screen, a log pile, a stocking hook, a brass poker, a sleeping dog and a candle lantern, drawn for the page you fill in after the house has gone quiet.
The sleeping dog sticker works nicely tucked near the bottom corner of a spread, as if it has settled in front of the fire while you write. Save the stocking hook for a page where you plan what goes inside each stocking this year.
A bowl of popcorn, a remote, a blanket, a mug of cocoa, a pair of fuzzy socks and a box of chocolates make up a full movie night on one sheet, ready for a spread about staying in.
A bath salt jar, a face mask, a bath tray, a towel stack and a eucalyptus bundle fill out this sheet, five small pieces for a page about slowing down before bed.
Outside and Planning
Step outside for a sheet of six: a pair of boots, a walking stick, a wool hat, a thermos, a pinecone and a bird on a fence post, good for any page about a short walk in cold air.
Print this one on sticker paper if you want the boots and thermos to sit directly on a glossy photo corner without extra glue showing through. The bird on the fence post is small enough to use as a little accent next to a date or a one line note.
A mason jar, a folded paper star, a ribbon, a pencil, a little heart and a sprig of pine sit on this sheet, built for a page where you jot down one good thing each day of December.
A clipboard, a blank gift list card, a calendar page with no numbers, a paper clip and a sticky note make this sheet the quiet workhorse of the set, useful anywhere you need to plan rather than decorate.
Because the gift list card and calendar page carry no printed text, you can write directly on them once they are glued down, which makes this sheet handy for several different spreads across the season. Cut the sticky note shape with its slightly crooked edge intact for a more handmade look.
A jigsaw piece, a puzzle box, a deck of cards, a checkers board, a pair of dice and a game token fill this sheet for a page about slow afternoons spent at the table.
Treats and Making
A cocoa pot, a marshmallow jar, a peppermint stirrer, a whipped cream mug, a cinnamon stick and a sugar bowl make a full hot drinks station on one sheet.
Set the cocoa pot and the sugar bowl side by side at the top of a spread, almost like a little sign for the page below. Pair this sheet with the baking day stickers for a two page spread about everything that comes out of the kitchen in December.
A box of baubles, a garland coil, a step stool, a tree topper angel, a strand of beads and a hook set cover the evening the tree goes up, drawn for the page where you remember doing it.
Six small pieces for handmade gifts: a knitting basket, a jam jar with a gingham lid, a soap bar, a hand-sewn sachet, a crochet star and a sewing tin, good for a page about what you are making this year.
If you are short on time, a five minute version works just as well: print only the jam jar and the soap bar, cut them roughly and tuck them onto a gift tag in place of a label. The full sheet is worth keeping for a dedicated handmade gifts spread later on.
A record player, a vinyl record, a radio, a piano bench, a songbook with a blank cover and a tambourine round out this sheet for a page about the music that plays in the background of the season.
Mornings and Houseplants
A frosty window, a window candle, a wreath on a window, a curtain tie, a snowy sill and a bird feeder give you the whole view from inside, drawn to sit across the top of a spread like a little border.
These line up well end to end along the top edge of a page, so the frosty window sits on one side and the bird feeder on the other. This is a good sheet to pair with the holiday houseplants stickers for a window themed spread.
A Christmas cactus, a poinsettia, a potted fir, an amaryllis, a paperwhite pot and a holly pot bring six small plants together on one sheet, each in its own small container.
What to Do Next
Print the sheets you need first, the reading nook and the candles are a good place to start, and build the rest of the set as your spreads call for them.
Frequently Asked Questions
What paper works best for these christmas journal stickers?
Printable sticker paper gives the easiest peel and stick result for every sheet in this set. Plain paper and a glue stick work just as well if you prefer a flatter finish under washi tape or a frame.
What printer settings should I use?
Set the printer to actual size rather than fit to page, and choose the best or photo quality setting if your printer offers one. This keeps every sticker the size it was drawn at and keeps the thin outlines crisp.
How do I cut out the stickers neatly?
Cut around each shape leaving a thin white border rather than trimming right up to the ink line. For small inner curves, such as the handle of the stand mixer or the loop of the fountain pen, a craft knife on a cutting mat gives a cleaner result than scissors.
Can I use these stickers on gifts and cards as well as journals?
Yes, every sheet works equally well on gift tags, envelope flaps and the front of a handmade card. Pick one or two stickers per card rather than crowding several together, since the objects read best with some white space around them.
Do any of the sheets need to be colored in first?
No, every sheet already comes filled with watercolour in cranberry red, pine green and honey gold, so there is nothing left to paint. The blank book covers, calendar page and gift list card are left empty on purpose so you can write on them by hand.
