Table of Contents
This set of vintage love stickers gathers twenty eight sheets of old fashioned romance: lace hearts, cupids, love letters, roses, lovebirds and little keepsakes drawn in a soft faded style. Each sheet holds five to eight separate pieces you can cut apart for Valentine cards, love letter journals, planner weeks and gift wrap, from a heart locket and a sleeping cupid to a teapot with roses and a pair of lovebirds on a branch.
Print on sticker paper for pieces that peel and stick, or print on plain paper and attach them with a glue stick or washi tape instead. Either way, print at actual size and leave a thin white edge around each shape when you cut, so the fine ink line stays whole.
Using these images: free for personal projects such as printing, coloring, cards, journals and gifts. Handmade items that include them may be sold up to 30 pieces per design. More than that is commercial use and is not permitted, and neither is selling or sharing the images themselves or passing them off as your own. Please ask before any other use.
Vintage Valentine Hearts
Open the set with a lace heart, a heart with a ribbon, a puffy satin heart, a heart locket, a heart with wings and a heart made of roses, six quiet ways to say the word love without using it.
Set this one beside the lace heart sheet above and you have enough hearts to carry a whole card front without any single sheet feeling crowded.
Try the winged heart or the heart made of roses as a focal point near the top of a page, then scatter the smaller satin heart and ribboned heart around the border for a framed look.
Cupids And Cherubs
Cupid with a bow, a cherub on a cloud, a sleeping cupid, a cupid with a heart, a pair of cherubs and a cupid arrow fill this sheet, small enough to tuck into corners of a planner week or a card without ever looking cluttered.
Cut the sleeping cupid and the cherub on a cloud with small curved scissors first, since their rounded limbs need the gentlest trim to keep the thin white border even all the way round.
Leave the cupid arrow and pair of cherubs for last, when your hand has settled into the rhythm of the shapes, and save any scraps of ribbon-shaped cutouts for a junk journal pocket.
Old Love Letters
A sealed envelope, a wax seal, a quill, an ink pot, a bundle of letters tied with ribbon and a pressed flower make a complete little writing desk, perfect for anyone building a postal junk journal spread.
If you only have plain paper on hand, print this sheet there and attach each piece with a glue stick, since the quill and ink pot have thin pointed ends that peel badly off sticker backing anyway.
The wax seal works well stamped over a folded letter edge, and the pressed flower sits nicely tucked between two pages of a vintage junk journal as a quiet bit of colour.
Roses For A Sweetheart
A red rose, a pink rose, a rosebud, a rose bouquet, a rose in a vase and a climbing rose sprig give you every stage of a rose in one sheet, from a single bud to a full bouquet.
Pair this sheet with the lovebird sheet further down for a card that reads like a little garden scene, roses along the bottom edge and a bird or two settled above them.
Beginners can keep to the single rosebud and rose in a vase for a simple card corner, while anyone more confident can build a whole border from the climbing sprig and bouquet.
Lovebirds
A pair of doves, two bluebirds, a pair of swans, a lovebird on a branch, a bird with a heart and a birdcage carry the old idea of birds paired for life onto paper, gentle enough for a wedding card or a quiet journal page.
The birdcage has delicate bars that print more cleanly on matte paper than on glossy sticker stock, so give that one a test print before committing the whole sheet.
Once cut, the pair of swans makes a calm centrepiece for an anniversary card, with the smaller bluebirds and bird with a heart filling the space around it.
Vintage Jewelry
A heart ring, a cameo, a charm bracelet, a pearl necklace, a jewelry box and a brooch turn a page into a little drawer of keepsakes, each piece drawn as its own small sticker.
Use a craft knife for the cameo’s oval frame and the open centre of the charm bracelet, since small inner curves like these are hard to turn cleanly with scissors alone.
Once trimmed, the brooch and cameo work well stuck near the top of a card as if pinned to a collar, while the pearl necklace can drape along the bottom edge.
Sweets For A Sweetheart
A heart box of chocolates, a cupcake, a macaron, a cherry, a plain candy heart and a slice of cake make this the sheet to reach for on any card meant to say something sweet and simple.
Stick the heart box of chocolates onto the front of a small gift bag and tuck a few actual chocolates inside, a five minute finishing touch that needs nothing else.
For a card instead, line the slice of cake, cupcake and macaron along one edge like a little bakery counter, with the plain candy heart as a small extra in a corner.
Old Courting Things
A pair of gloves, a top hat, a fan, a parasol, a bowler hat and a bouquet bring in the courting props of an older era, the kind of pieces that suit a vintage fashion junk journal spread.
The parasol and fan both have thin ribs that benefit from a sharp craft knife rather than scissors, so set those two aside until you have a steady surface to cut on.
Group the top hat and bowler hat together on a page about a wedding or engagement, and save the gloves and bouquet for a card meant for an older relative’s anniversary.
Keys And Locks
A skeleton key, a heart padlock, a key with a bow, a keyhole plate, a love lock and a keyring carry the old idea of a key to someone’s heart, drawn plainly enough to suit any style of card.
Pin the heart padlock beside the key with a bow on an engagement card, two halves of one small idea that reads clearly even without a caption underneath.
The keyhole plate has a narrow inner cutout, so a craft knife works better there than scissors, while the plainer keyring and skeleton key can be trimmed quickly with no special care.
Perfume And Powder
A perfume atomizer, a powder puff, a vanity mirror, a lipstick, a scent bottle and a compact fill out a dressing table’s worth of small vanity pieces for romantic planner pages.
Print this one on sticker paper if your journal pages are already busy, since peel and stick pieces let you reposition the mirror and compact a few times before you settle on a spot.
The scent bottle and perfume atomizer look good stuck at an angle rather than straight, as if just set down on a table, which keeps the whole corner from looking too tidy.
Wedding Keepsakes
A wedding cake, a garter, a veil, a pair of rings, a bouquet with ribbons and a ring pillow give you a full set for wedding cards, guest book pages or a keepsake wedding journal.
Set the pair of rings and ring pillow together near the centre of a card, then let the veil trail off to one side as if lifted by a small breeze, with the bouquet with ribbons anchoring the bottom corner.
The wedding cake and garter work well as a smaller pair tucked into a sidebar, useful if you want the main scene kept calm and uncluttered.
Romantic Tea
Fill a tea themed page with a rose teacup, a heart sugar cube, a teapot with roses, a tiered cake stand, a petit four and a lace doily, six pieces that would not look out of place alongside coffee junk journal pages.
Give the lace doily a careful trim with small scissors, working slowly around its scalloped edge so the pattern reads clearly once it sits under the teacup or cake stand.
Arrange the petit four and heart sugar cube like a tiny spread on a planner week meant for a tea date, with the teapot with roses standing taller behind them.
Lace And Ribbons
A lace collar, a ribbon rosette, a lace fan, a satin bow, a lace handkerchief and a ribbon spool work as quiet border pieces, the kind of trim that finishes a page without competing with the main image.
These pieces pair naturally with the lace heart sheet near the start of this set, since both lean on fine linework that reads best printed at full size with no scaling down.
Run the satin bow and ribbon rosette along the top edge of a card as a border, then save the lace handkerchief for a single quiet accent lower down.
Love Notes In Bottles
A message bottle, a cork, a blank scroll, a heart charm, a ribbon and a shell suit a seaside themed love letter or a card for someone far away.
Write a short wish or a line from a letter onto the blank scroll before you stick it down, since the empty centre is made for exactly that kind of small handwritten detail.
Group the shell and ribbon beside the message bottle for a card that feels sent from somewhere else, and keep the heart charm as a tiny extra near the signature.
What to Do Next
Print the sheets you need first, keep the rest saved for the next card or journal page, and let a few pieces from different sections sit together once you see what pairs well on paper.
Frequently Asked Questions
What paper works best for vintage love stickers?
Printable sticker paper gives you a true peel and stick finish for journals and cards. Matte sticker paper suits the fine ink lines better than glossy stock, and plain paper with a glue stick works just as well if stickers are not on hand.
What printer settings should I use?
Print at actual size or one hundred percent scale, never fit to page, so every sheet stays true to the original proportions. Choose the best or photo quality setting on your printer to keep the thin grey outlines crisp rather than fuzzy.
How do I cut out small or curved pieces cleanly?
Leave a thin white border around each shape rather than cutting right up to the ink line, which protects the edge from fraying. A craft knife handles inner curves like frames, keyholes and handles far better than scissors.
Can I use these stickers on gifts and envelopes?
Yes, these vintage love stickers suit envelope seals, gift bag labels and wrapping paper accents just as well as journal pages. A single kiss print or wax seal stuck over a fold finishes a letter in seconds.
How do I keep a journal page from feeling too busy?
Pick one or two sheets per page rather than mixing many at once, since each sheet already has its own clear sub-theme. Let one piece sit as a focal point and use the smaller objects only as corner accents.
