These baby gift tags printable free sheets give you eighteen pages of soft pastel tags built for baby showers, christening presents and new baby visits, each one with its own small nursery scene instead of a blank label. You get nursery toys, little animals and sleepy moons spread across different tag shapes, so a handmade gift bag or a card envelope always has something that fits the occasion.
Print the sheets on sticker paper if you want a peel and stick finish, or use plain matte paper and a glue stick for a sturdier tag you can punch and tie. Either way, print at actual size with no page scaling, then cut each tag out leaving a thin white edge around it.
Using these images: free for personal projects such as printing, coloring, cards, journals and gifts. Handmade items that include them may be sold up to 30 pieces per design. More than that is commercial use and is not permitted, and neither is selling or sharing the images themselves or passing them off as your own. Please ask before any other use.
First Welcome Tags
Start a wrapped parcel or a card envelope with this sheet, which carries a scalloped tag printed with a baby rattle, a round tag with a little lamb and a luggage tag with a pacifier.
The scalloped edge reads nicely on sticker paper straight onto gift wrap, while the luggage tag punches cleanly if you print it on plain paper backed with a scrap of cardstock. Keep all three together on one gift for a set that feels planned rather than picked at random.
Four shapes carry the nursery theme further here: a onesie-shaped tag with a star, a round tag with a teddy bear, a ticket label with a baby bottle and an oval tag with a moon and stars.
Give the onesie tag to a parcel wrapped in plain kraft paper so its shape stands out against the plain ground, and keep the ticket label for a smaller gift like a dummy clip or a muslin cloth. The oval moon tag pairs well with the moon watercolor ideas if you want the same sleepy sky look on a card front too.
Gentle Weather Tags
Pair a cloud tag with a raindrop and a round tag with a duckling for a rainy day shower gift, and finish the set with a rectangular label with a pair of knitted booties for the outside of the box.
This sheet leans toward bigger gifts, with a luggage tag with a pram, a round tag with a baby elephant, a scalloped tag with a wooden building block and a square tag with a hot air balloon.
Choose the luggage tag for a pram gift basket where it can hang from the handle, and save the square balloon tag for a card to tuck inside. If you enjoy drawing nursery animals beyond what is printed here, the bear painting ideas make a good next sketch to try.
Nursery Story Tags
A round tag with a stork carrying a bundle, an oval tag with a crib mobile and an arched tag with a rainbow bring a storybook feel to this sheet, each one suited to a card front as much as a gift box.
Cut the heart-shaped tag with tiny footprints along its curves with small scissors, since a craft knife is only needed for the inner points if your paper is heavier cardstock.
The round tag with a giraffe and the ticket label with a bib suit a clothing gift, while the square tag with a wooden toy train works well on a keepsake box for a christening present. Keep all four from this sheet together for one coordinated gift.
Nap Time Tags
Round out a nursery gift with a round tag with a sleepy moon, a luggage tag with a rocking chair and an oval tag with a baby bear in a beanie, three quiet motifs for a christening or a first visit.
Pair this sheet with the rocking chair and bear tags above for one wrapped gift that mixes sea motifs and nursery quiet, since a scalloped tag with a little whale, a round tag with a sailboat, a rectangular label with a starfish and a square tag with a rubber duck all sit happily on a bath time gift set.
Cosy Home Tags
A round tag with a plush kitten, a luggage tag with a patchwork quilt and an arched tag with a wooden cradle give this sheet a homemade, handed down feel suited to a quilt or blanket gift.
For the five minute version of this sheet, print just the cloud tag with a sleepy star and the round tag with a lion cub, cut them with the thin white border left on and attach straight to a gift bag handle.
The oval tag with a teething ring and the ticket label with a baby hairbrush work better on sticker paper for small grooming gifts, since they stick flat to a box lid without needing glue at all.
Soft Knits Tags
A round tag with a fawn, a scalloped tag with a tiny cardigan and a luggage tag with a basket of baby blankets suit a gift of handmade knits better than anything else in this set.
Write a short wish on the back of the onesie-shaped tag with polka dots before you attach it, since the greeting on the front stays short and this gives the gift a more personal line without crowding the design.
The round tag with a baby chick, the square tag with a stacking ring toy and the rectangular label with a pair of mittens all cut easily with small scissors, no inner curves to worry about with a craft knife.
Little Outings Tags
A round tag with a koala, a luggage tag with a pram blanket, an arched tag with a daisy and a scalloped tag with a little drum round out a sheet built for outings and playdates rather than the nursery itself.
These three motifs suit a smaller card rather than a large parcel, so a round tag with a kite, an oval tag with a baby shoe and a ticket label with a music box tuck neatly into an envelope sent with flowers.
Christening Day Tags
For a christening or naming day gift, the heart-shaped tag with a tiny crown and the round tag with a swan carry a gentler, more formal note, while the luggage tag with a lace bonnet and the square tag with a sprig of baby’s breath finish a parcel of keepsake clothing.
Print this sheet on plain paper if you plan to glue the tags flat to a gift box lid, since the round tag with a little owl, the scalloped tag with a night light, the oval tag with a bath tub with bubbles and the ticket label with a hooded towel all suit a bath time or bedtime gift set better than a hanging tag.
New Home Tags
A round tag with a panda cub, a luggage tag with a diaper bag and an arched tag with a nursery window round out a practical gift of nappy bags or changing supplies, with the luggage tag made to hang from a bag strap.
Close the set with a cloud tag with a toy airplane, a round tag with a teddy in a wagon, a square tag with a little sun and a rectangular label with a puppy, a playful mix that suits a gift for an older sibling as much as the new baby.
If you enjoy sketching the animals across this set, the teddy bear watercolor ideas and the watercolor chickens ideas both give you more of the same gentle creatures to paint on a card front to match.
What to Do Next
Download the sheets, print the ones that suit your gift and start cutting, since a wrapped baby gift always looks finished once a tag with its own little scene is tucked under the bow.
Frequently Asked Questions
What paper works best for these baby gift tags?
Printable sticker paper gives you a peel and stick tag, while matte cardstock printed plain and glued to a punched blank gives a sturdier tag for tying with ribbon. Choose sticker paper for speed and cardstock for a tag that can hang or stand on its own.
What printer settings should I use?
Print at actual size with no page scaling and choose the best or photo quality setting your printer offers. This keeps the fine grey outlines crisp and stops the pastel watercolour fill from looking patchy or faint.
How do I cut out tags with curved or pointed shapes?
Small detail scissors handle scalloped and round edges easily, but a craft knife on a cutting mat gives a cleaner result on sharp points like the heart and crown shapes. Leave a thin white border around each tag as you cut for a neat finished edge.
Can I use these tags inside a journal instead of on a gift?
Yes, the tags work well as standalone pieces on a junk journal page or tucked into a pocket page alongside other ephemera. Trim the border close if you want them to sit flatter against a journal page.
How do I attach a tag to a wrapped gift without ribbon or string?
Fold a small strip of washi tape or a paper loop through the punched hole and tape the ends to the gift, since the sheets are drawn without ribbon so you can choose your own. A glue dot on the back also works for a flat finish on a box lid.
