Table of Contents
This christmas tea junk journal kit gathers twenty scene pages, four seamless backgrounds and five lined writing pages into one ladylike, unhurried set. Every sheet carries the same soft festive tea room mood: holly sprigs on fine china, tiered cake stands, firelight and steam curling from the spout, so the finished journal feels like one long afternoon tea rather than a pile of loose pictures.
Print the pages on matte cardstock heavy enough to take glue without buckling, set your printer to its best or photo quality, and trim close to the edge before you arrange your spreads. From there it is just scissors, glue and a cup of tea at your elbow while you build.
Using these images: free for personal projects such as printing, coloring, cards, journals and gifts. Handmade items that include them may be sold up to 30 pieces per design. More than that is commercial use and is not permitted, and neither is selling or sharing the images themselves or passing them off as your own. Please ask before any other use.
Teatime Still Lifes
A holly teacup and saucer sits beside a slice of Christmas cake and a lit candle, ready for the very first page of the set.
Tuck a photo of your own baking, a handwritten recipe card or a cut out menu into the gap beside the stand, since the empty space between the tiers is made for exactly that kind of keepsake.
Pair this one with the red and white transferware background from this set, slipped behind it as a pocket so a folded note can rest against the fire glow.
Tear the bottom edge of this page on purpose, then tea stain just that strip so the tray looks like it has sat through many winters of pouring.
Mismatched teacups, stacked and tied with a red ribbon beside a small pile of pinecones, make a cheerful corner for any Christmas spread.
The usual mistake with a novelty teapot page is drawing the eye straight to the shape and nothing else, so give the gingerbread biscuit and holly their own quiet corner.
Let the cottage teapot sit slightly off centre instead of dead middle, with the biscuit plate balancing the other side of the page.
Settle an open book, a single scone and a cup of tea along a windowsill, with a snowy garden stretching out beyond the glass.
This page suits anyone building a journal as a gift for the family baker, the one who always makes the bûche de Noël and never gets thanked properly in words.
Roses, berries and lace napkins surround the log cake so the page already feels like a finished table setting.
A loaded tea cart stands beside the Christmas tree, carrying a kettle, a cream jug and a plate of cookies ready to wheel to the fire.
Write the story behind a favourite blend here: where it came from, who gave it, or simply what it smells like brewing on a cold afternoon.
Poinsettias, white wicker chairs and a pink teapot turn a garden room into a Christmas tea spot, bright even on the greyest afternoon.
Teatime Still Lifes
A short prompt for this one: what is the oldest ornament your family still hangs, and who first put it on the tree.
A jam pot, a dish of clotted cream and one warm scone rest on a holly patterned plate, simple enough for a quiet Sunday page.
For the five minute version, skip the fairy lights and the garland and just paint the cabinet shelves filled with cups, since the collection itself is enough to carry the page.
Teapots And Kettles
Place this page in a spread facing the cottage teapot earlier in this set, so two whimsical teapot shapes sit across from each other on the open book.
A pot of spiced chai sits with star anise, cardamom pods and a small cookie plate scattered nearby, warm enough to smell from the page.
Fireside And Family
A cat curled beside a tea tray on a quilted sofa, with a pine bough tucked nearby, suits the page meant for the family pet who always claims the warmest seat by the fire.
Tiny cups, a miniature tree and a seated teddy bear make up a dolls tea party, perfect for a page kept for childhood Christmas memories.
For the five minute version, paint just the lantern and the two steaming cups and leave the blankets as a loose suggestion of folded fabric rather than a detailed pattern.
A tea tray holds gingerbread scones, a small honey pot and a sprig of holly, a fitting last scene before the backgrounds and lined pages begin. For more festive table ideas, the Christmas baking journal pairs well alongside this kit on a shelf.
Background Papers
Use this small teacup and holly pattern under photographs of your own Christmas tea, as a pocket lining tucked inside the back cover, or as wrapping for a gift journal cover.
This red and white transferware teapot pattern works well as a cover sheet, a pocket lining for recipe cards, or a backing behind a photo of the tea table itself.
Slide this scone and jam jar sprig pattern behind a recipe page, use it as a pocket for loose notes, or wrap it around a small gift tucked into the journal. The tea party journal set shares a similar sprig style if you want more variety.
This pastel tea rose and mistletoe chintz suits a journal cover, a pocket for pressed holly leaves, or a backing sheet behind the dolls’ tea party page earlier in this set.
Lined Writing Pages
Write your tea blend notes here, a short wish for the new year, or the guest list for your next afternoon tea. For another steady place to write by candlelight, the candle painting ideas page offers a similar quiet mood.
Use the ruled lines for a Christmas card list, a short letter to next year, or a record of which teas everyone preferred at the table.
Jot a baking order down one side, a guest’s favourite treat, or a short note about the scones that disappeared first. Readers building a full festive kit often add the Christmas junk journal pages for extra lined space.
Keep a short gift list here, a menu for the tea table, or a line about who took their tea with two sugars and who refused the cream.
Write a letter to next Christmas here, a short thank you note, or a list of the recipes you want to try before the season ends.
What to Do Next
Print the set, trim the edges and start with the fireside pages while the room feels like the right place to begin, then fill in the quieter backgrounds and lined pages as the journal grows.
Frequently Asked Questions
What paper works best for a christmas tea junk journal?
Matte cardstock between 24lb and 32lb works best for a christmas tea junk journal. It takes glue and ink without buckling, folds cleanly for pockets, and still feeds easily through most home printers.
What printer settings give the best colours?
Set the printer to its best or photo quality and choose matte or cardstock as the paper type. This keeps the pastel tones crisp and stops the ink from pooling or bleeding on the fine lines.
What size should I print the pages?
Standard letter or A4 size suits most journals and binds easily. Trim a little off each edge after printing so no white border shows once the pages are glued in.
What do I use to colour or glue the pages?
The pages print in full colour, so no colouring is needed unless you want to add shading with coloured pencils. A glue stick or thin craft glue works best for attaching pages without warping the paper.
Can I mix these pages with other Christmas journal sets?
Yes, these pages mix easily with other Christmas sets since the soft palette and fine linework blend well. Try pairing them with a baking or candle themed kit for a fuller festive journal.
