Table of Contents
This bee junk journal kit gathers a whole sunny season of honeybees and bumblebees into one printable set: hives tucked into clover meadows, honey jars catching the light on a kitchen table, and cottage flowers full of buzzing visitors. There are 23 scene pages, 5 seamless background papers and 5 lined writing pages, enough to fill a journal from cover to cover without repeating a single image.
Print everything on matte cardstock heavy enough to hold glue without warping, set your printer to its best photo or highest quality mode, and trim close to the edge on any page meant to sit inside a smaller journal. Once that’s done, the whole kit works together: scenes to glue in as pages, backgrounds for covers and pockets, and lined pages ready for your own handwriting.
Using these images: free for personal projects such as printing, coloring, cards, journals and gifts. Handmade items that include them may be sold up to 30 pieces per design. More than that is commercial use and is not permitted, and neither is selling or sharing the images themselves or passing them off as your own. Please ask before any other use.
Hives And Meadows
Honeybees circle a white wooden hive set deep in a clover meadow scattered with daisies, bright under an open summer sky.
Pair this page with the lavender sprig background paper later in the set, slipping it just behind this scene so the sprigs peek out along the edge.
A domed skep hive sits on its garden stand, foxgloves rising behind it and lavender spilling across the foreground while bees move between the blooms.
Glue in a real honey label clipping, a pressed clover leaf or a handwritten recipe card tucked beside the jars on this page.
Rows of honey jars catch the window light next to a wooden dipper and a broken piece of honeycomb, all set on a sunny kitchen table.
A bumblebee rests low on a pink clover blossom catching dewdrops along the grass blades around it.
The usual trouble with a tools page like this one is letting it feel cluttered. Keep the eye moving by leaving the hat and veil as the largest shapes, with the gloves and smoker smaller and set slightly behind.
A beekeeper’s wide hat and veil rest on a garden bench alongside leather gloves and a small smoker, ready for the next visit to the hives.
Garden Flowers And Bees
Try the five minute version of this page: block in the sunflowers and fence first, add two or three bees last, and leave the rest of the background a simple wash.
Bees move between tall sunflowers growing along a white picket fence, a watering can resting in the grass nearby.
A lifted honeycomb frame drips gently above a basket of lemons, bees still clinging to the golden wax.
This page suits anyone in a gift journal who loves a proper afternoon tea: pair it with a handwritten tea party invitation tucked into the corner.
A honey pot sits on a tea tray beside warm scones and lemon slices, one small bee hovering close to the honey’s edge.
A row of painted beehives lines the edge of a lavender field stretching toward a pale horizon.
Write the answer to this on the page itself: which flower in your own garden draws the most bees, and when does it first bloom each year.
Place this page across from the honeycomb frame page, so the queen on her throne faces the lifted comb like two halves of the same hive story.
A queen bee wears a tiny crown as she rests on a honeycomb throne, clover blossoms arranged around the base like an offering.
Market And Orchard Days
Tuck a small paper price tag or a torn ticket stub onto this page, the kind you might keep from an actual farm stand visit.
A market stall displays honey jars and beeswax candles over a gingham cloth, ready for the next customer to stop and browse.
Bees drift between apple blossoms in a spring orchard, a wooden ladder leaning against the nearest tree.
This is the page to pair with the golden honeycomb hexagon background later in the set, using it as a lining for a small pocket glued beneath the candles.
Beeswax candles rest beside broken pieces of honeycomb and sprigs of dried lavender, all arranged across a simple linen cloth.
A bee hotel fixed to a garden wall hosts several solitary bees among catmint blooming at its base.
A common mistake on a teacup page is making the bee too large for the rim. Keep it small and resting lightly, with the roses and sugar cubes doing the rest of the work.
A bumblebee rests on the rim of a teacup surrounded by roses and a small dish of sugar cubes.
Meadow And Curiosities
Here, bees share the clover and buttercups with a single white butterfly drifting low over the meadow grass.
Try tea-staining just the edge of this page before gluing it in, so the glass dome looks like something pulled from an old collector’s cabinet.
A vintage bee specimen sits beneath a glass dome, surrounded by dried flowers and a brass magnifier left close by.
This page suits a reader planning a bee themed gathering: leave a line beneath it for the recipe of whatever honey cake she bakes next.
A honey cake sits on a cake stand with a sprig of chamomile and a lace napkin folded nearby, one bee circling close.
Several bees drink from a shallow birdbath scattered with pebbles, forget-me-nots growing low around its base.
For a quick spread, set this cottage garden page beside the skep hive scene from earlier in the set so both straw hives sit on facing pages.
A straw skep stands among hollyhocks lining a stone path leading toward a small cottage door.
A bumblebee climbs a tall foxglove spire while sweet peas twine up a trellis just beside it.
Keep this one for a sunny entry: a page for an actual picnic, or one simply remembered, with honey sandwiches and lemonade set out on the clover and a few bees drifting past.
Background Papers
Small honeybees and clover blossoms repeat in an all-over pattern that works well lining a pocket, backing a photo or wrapping a journal cover.
This hexagon pattern suits a cover page, a pocket lining or the backing behind a honey jar photo, its warm gold tones matching most of the scene pages in this set.
A small calico style print of bees and daisies works nicely behind a garden photo, as a pocket lining, or folded into a simple envelope on the page.
Soft stripes alternate with bumblebees and buttercups, ready for a journal cover, a pocket lining or the backing behind a pressed flower.
Small skep hives and lavender sprigs repeat quietly across the page, suited to a cover, a pocket lining or backing a page of pressed lavender.
Lined Writing Pages
A honeycomb border runs along one edge of this page, leaving the ruled lines free for a gift list, a honey cake recipe or notes from the last market visit.
A trail of small bees drifts along the top of this page, ready for a letter to next year, a garden to-do list or a short note about the season’s first bloom.
Clover leaves and a small bumblebee fill one corner of this page, suited to a menu for a garden lunch, a list of seeds to plant or a page of pressed flower notes.
A honey dipper drips gently along the header of this page, good for a recipe, a gift list for a honey themed basket or a few lines about today’s weather.
A skep hive and a frame of small flowers border this page, ready for a letter to a future reader, a list of garden chores or notes from a trip to the hives.
What to Do Next
Print the whole set, trim the pages you want smaller, and start gluing from the clover meadow scenes forward so the hives, honey and garden flowers fall into a season of their own inside your journal.
Frequently Asked Questions
What paper works best for printing a bee junk journal kit?
Matte cardstock around 65 to 110 lb holds the ink well and takes glue without warping. Thinner paper works for the lined pages if you plan to tea-stain or tear the edges by hand.
What printer settings give the clearest colours?
Choose your printer’s highest quality or photo setting and print on the matte or cardstock paper profile if one is offered. This keeps the pale pastel washes clean instead of dull or streaky.
What size should I print these pages at?
Standard US letter or A4 suits most home printers and trims down easily to common junk journal sizes. Trim close to the edge on any page meant for a smaller journal, leaving background and lined pages at full size if they will wrap a cover.
What glue is safe for layering these pages?
A thin acid-free glue stick works best, since it dries flat and will not wrinkle the paper or bleed through the ink. Save liquid glue for small pockets or envelopes where extra hold matters.
Do I need to colour anything in this kit myself?
No, every page prints in full colour and is ready to use straight away. If you prefer a hand finished look, add extra shading with coloured pencils on the lined page borders only.
