Korean doodle funny characters are the small, slightly dramatic faces that turn a snack or a sleepy Monday into a tiny comic strip. You already know this feeling: the dumpling who cannot deal with today, the kimbap roll sprinting to work, the cloud who got left behind by the bus. All of it fits on one page in a notebook, and none of it needs more than a pen and two markers.
Below are 29 of these little scenes, ordered so the simplest round shapes come first and the trickier poses and props come later. Pick whichever face matches your mood today and draw it in one sitting, no sketching required.
Using these images: free for personal projects such as printing, coloring, cards, journals and gifts. Handmade items that include them may be sold up to 30 pieces per design. More than that is commercial use and is not permitted, and neither is selling or sharing the images themselves or passing them off as your own. Please ask before any other use.
Start with the rice cake itself: draw a short, slightly squashed oval, flatter on the bottom so it sits like a soft cushion on the page. Rice cakes (tteok) are forgiving shapes because they are never perfectly round, so do not worry about a wobble in the outline.
Add two straight little arms crossed over the middle of the body, a simple trick that reads as sulking instantly, then draw a small pouty mouth as a short curved line turned down at the corners, with two dot eyes above it pinched close together. Shade the cheeks lightly in peach pink marker for a sulky blush.
If the arms look stiff, round off the elbows slightly so the crossing feels soft rather than robotic. Swap the fineliner for a fine brush pen if you want a slightly thicker, bouncier outline on the body.
Finish by leaving the rice cake’s little feet off entirely: a doodle with no feet, just an oval planted on the page, often reads funnier than one that stands properly.
Palette: Peach Pink, Soft White, Charcoal Black
Following on from a shape this round, the kimbap roll is your first chance to draw something longer: sketch a tall cylinder standing upright, then wrap a thin band of seaweed around the bottom third in black fineliner, leaving the top pale for the rice.
Give it two thin running legs bent mid-stride, one lifted higher than the other, and two short arms, one of them clutching a tiny rectangle briefcase. A few speed lines behind the legs sell the rushing feeling without any extra drawing on the character itself.
The usual trouble spot is the seaweed wrap sitting too neatly, which makes the roll look stiff rather than panicked. Let the top edge of the wrap tilt slightly, as if it is about to come loose, and the whole figure feels more frantic.
Color the rice top in a thin outline only, no fill, so the black seaweed band stays the strongest mark on the page. A wide-nib marker works fine instead of a fineliner for that seaweed band if you want it bolder.
Palette: Charcoal Black, Rice White, Mint Green
Here is a shape you will reuse through this whole list, so it is worth getting comfortable with: draw a fat crescent for the dumpling’s body, pleated edge along the top curve as a row of small connected bumps. Keep the pleats loose and uneven, that is what makes it look hand-folded rather than printed.
For the droopy Monday eyes, draw two half-closed lids as flat curved lines with no visible pupil underneath, the laziest eyes you can manage, then a tiny open mouth yawning. One small round arm holds a coffee cup up near its face.
If the pleats along the top start to look mechanical, vary their size slightly rather than spacing them evenly. That small irregularity is doing most of the comic work here.
Color the coffee cup’s sleeve in peach pink and leave the dumpling itself white with black outline only, so your eye goes straight to the tired face.
Palette: Charcoal Black, Peach Pink, Rice White
Try the same dumpling body with eyes fully open and a cheerful grin for a Friday version, so you build a tiny weekday set over a few sittings.
Move from food up into the sky for this one: draw the cloud first as three or four overlapping bumps, soft and rounded, no sharp points anywhere on the outline. Give it two short stubby legs underneath, mid-run, and a small worried face with eyebrows raised up in the middle.
Place the eye level low on the page and the bus already halfway off the right edge, only its back half and a puff of exhaust visible. That small detail, the bus already leaving the frame, tells the whole joke without a single word.
Where this goes wrong is drawing the bus too large or too close, which makes it look like the cloud is about to catch it. Keep the bus small and distant, and the cloud’s legs stretched wide, for the gap between them to read clearly.
If you want a quicker version, skip the bus altogether and just draw the cloud mid-sprint with motion lines behind it, letting the title do the storytelling.
Palette: Mint Green, Charcoal Black, Soft White
This idea introduces your first human figure, so keep the proportions forgiving: draw the body lying flat from a bird’s eye view, arms and legs spread out like a starfish, head centered at the top of the page. A simple oval head and rounded limbs with no joints drawn in keep this easy at any level.
The sheet mask itself is just a flatter oval laid over the face with two eye holes and a mouth hole cut as small gaps, the edges slightly uneven since sheet masks never sit perfectly straight. Color the mask pale mint green, a nod to the real thing, and leave two closed-eye lines showing through the eye holes for full relaxation.
If the limbs look too stiff lying flat, bend the elbows and knees slightly outward rather than keeping everything straight. That little bend is what makes the pose look truly collapsed rather than posed.
No sheet mask on hand for reference, any flat pale oval with two holes reads the same, so do not worry about getting the texture exactly right.
Palette: Mint Green, Peach Pink, Charcoal Black
Keep the human figure easy by turning it into a soft shapeless blob for this one: draw one big rounded sausage shape lying on its side, tapered slightly at both ends like a true burrito roll. Only a small circle face peeks out from one end.
Add a few curved lines across the blanket to suggest the folds of fabric wrapping around the body, spaced unevenly rather than in a neat pattern. The face inside shows two closed, content eyes and a small smile, totally at peace with never getting up.
The easy mistake is making the blanket lines too straight, which flattens the roundness of the whole shape. Curve every fold line to follow the burrito’s roll, and it reads instantly as soft fabric rather than a solid tube.
Color the blanket peach pink in a light scribble fill rather than a flat block, leaving some white paper showing through for texture.
Palette: Peach Pink, Charcoal Black, Soft White
Draw a simple cup shape with a slightly wider top than bottom, a dome lid on top, and a straw poking through at an angle. Keep the cup’s outline straight-sided rather than curved, which makes it read instantly as a drink rather than a character wearing a cup costume.
Fill the lower third with small circles for the tapioca pearls, packed loosely rather than in a tidy grid, then draw the face in the middle of the cup body: wide round eyes, a small open oval mouth for the shocked gasp, and two short arm lines raised up in alarm. One pearl sits visibly stuck halfway up the straw.
The eye level sits straight on here since the cup is facing the reader directly, which is what makes the shocked expression land immediately rather than feeling observed from a distance. Keep the eyebrows high and arched for maximum panic.
Color the tea itself in a light peach pink wash and leave the pearls black fineliner dots only, no fill, so they stay visually separate from the drink.
Palette: Peach Pink, Charcoal Black, Soft White
Draw a simple elongated oval standing upright for the rice cake stick, rounded at both ends, with a thin skewer line running straight up through the center and poking out the top. This is one of the simplest bodies on the whole list, so spend your effort on the face and blush instead.
Give it two wide eyes, a small embarrassed open mouth, and heavy blush marks on both cheeks in peach pink marker, scribbled in a loose circular motion rather than a flat fill. A few small red-orange dots dripping down the sides suggest the spicy sauce it is blushing about.
If the blush looks too neat and controlled, that is the one thing to fix: real embarrassment blush should spread unevenly past the edges of the cheek, almost messy. Loosen your hand and let the color bleed slightly past the outline.
No peach marker on hand, light pink colored pencil scribbled the same loose way gives nearly the same blushing effect.
Palette: Peach Pink, Charcoal Black, Soft White
This little ghost works well right after a food-heavy run of ideas, giving your hand a break on straight lines: draw a simple rounded top like a dome, then a wavy bottom edge with three or four soft scallops instead of a straight hem. No arms needed, or just two small stub arms poking out sideways.
Squeeze both eyes shut as tight downward curves, almost touching, and a small stubborn frown underneath. Draw the whole ghost lying flat on its side rather than floating upright, which instantly reads as refusing to get out of bed.
The tricky part is making a ghost lying down still look like a ghost and not a blob. Keep that scalloped wavy bottom edge even while it is tipped sideways, since that detail is the main thing readers recognize as “ghost.”
Leave the whole shape white with black outline only, no marker color at all, since a plain white ghost against color everywhere else actually stands out more on the page.
Palette: Charcoal Black, Soft White, Mint Green
Hamsters give you a good round base shape to practice exaggerated poses on: draw an oval body tipped backward at an angle, as if falling, with two tiny front paws thrown up dramatically. Round ears sit high on a small circle head tilted back.
Draw the eyes as two tight X marks instead of dots, the universal cartoon shorthand for fainting, with the mouth open in a small wobbly oval. Place an empty round seed bowl just beside the hamster, tipped slightly, nothing left inside but a line or two suggesting a scattered seed or two.
Balancing a falling pose is the hard part here: tilt the whole oval body back at roughly a forty five degree angle and keep the paws and head following that same tilt, rather than drawing the body straight and only the limbs dramatic. That consistency across the whole figure sells the faint.
Color the hamster’s fur in a light peach pink patch on the cheeks only, keeping the rest of the body white for a quick, clean finish.
Palette: Peach Pink, Charcoal Black, Soft White
Look at a photo of a hamster’s round cheeks and short rounded ears if this is your first time drawing one, the proportions are smaller and rounder than most other small animals.
The roasted sweet potato gives you a lumpy, irregular shape to practice, which is a nice change of pace from all the smooth ovals so far: draw an uneven oblong with a few bumps and dents along the outline, never perfectly symmetrical, since real roasted sweet potatoes never are either.
Give it a small round face near the top third, wide stressed eyes, an open panting mouth, and a few curved sweat droplet shapes flicked off the forehead in black fineliner. One tiny arm holds a leaf, fanning itself, drawn as a simple teardrop shape on a short stick.
The quick ten-minute version stops right there with the outline, face and fan. For the forty-minute version, add light charcoal-colored streaks along the skin in a scribbly texture to suggest the roasted char marks real sweet potato skin gets, which adds a lot of personality for not much extra time.
Keep the sweat droplets small and few, two or three is plenty: too many starts to look like rain rather than stress.
Palette: Charcoal Black, Peach Pink, Mint Green
Bridging from food back to a character, the cat starts with a simple rounded head and body, two triangle ears, and a calm half-lidded expression, the usual unbothered cat face. The fun part is the towel: wrap a twisted band of fabric around the top of the head, knotted at one side like a turban, leaving the ears free.
Give it two short arms holding a small hair dryer up near the head, nozzle pointed at itself, with two or three wavy heat lines coming off the end. The whole pose should feel very self-important, like a cat doing an elaborate skincare routine.
The towel twist is the one part worth practicing separately first: draw it as a simple rope shape curling once around itself rather than trying to render real fabric folds. One clean twist reads clearly at this size.
Color the towel mint green and leave the cat’s fur white with black outline and a few short whisker lines for the finishing touch.
Palette: Mint Green, Charcoal Black, Soft White
Return to your dumpling crescent shape from earlier, this time tipped slightly forward as if hunched over a screen just out of frame. Give it two scrunched-up eyes streaming thick tears, drawn as several parallel wavy lines rather than single drops, since cartoon crying always reads bigger than real crying.
One small round arm holds a crumpled tissue up to the mouth. Add a tiny wobble line under the eyes to suggest a trembling lip, which does a lot of emotional work for one extra mark.
Tears are the part most doodles get wrong by drawing too few, too thin, or too symmetrical. Let two or three lines fall from each eye at slightly different lengths and angles, and the crying reads far more convincingly dramatic.
Color the tissue a plain soft white left blank, and shade only the tear tracks in a light mint blue-green wash if you want a cooler, sadder color note against the warm dumpling body.
Palette: Charcoal Black, Mint Green, Soft White
Place your dumpling crescent on one side of the page and a round rice ball on the other, both facing stubbornly away from each other, arms crossed on both. The gap between them is doing most of the storytelling, so leave a generous blank space in the middle rather than crowding them together.
Give each one a flat unimpressed mouth line and eyes pointed off to the side rather than straight ahead, which reads as deliberately avoiding eye contact. A tiny jagged crack line or two small storm clouds floating above them optional, if you want to push the drama further.
Comparing proportions matters here: keep the rice ball roughly the same height as the dummy’s crescent so neither character reads as dominant, since the joke relies on them being evenly matched in this standoff.
Color the rice ball’s seaweed strip black fineliner only, no marker, and give the dumpling a faint peach blush of leftover anger on its cheeks.
Palette: Charcoal Black, Peach Pink, Soft White
Draw a round bear head and chunky rounded body standing upright, small round ears on top, keeping every line soft and curved since bears work best drawn pudgy rather than sharp. The eyes stay closed as two simple downward curves, the whole point being that this bear is still mostly asleep.
One paw holds a short toothbrush up to the mouth at an angle, with a small scribble of foam bubbles escaping the corner. The other paw hangs loosely at its side rather than doing anything, reinforcing how little energy this bear has this morning.
A nice touch for varying it next time: once this basic sleepy bear works, try the same pose with the toothbrush swapped for a hairbrush dragging through messy head fur, or a spoon lifted halfway to a bowl, building a small set of half-asleep morning bears.
Keep the foam bubbles as three or four small loose circles rather than a solid white blob, which keeps the mouth area from looking cluttered.
Palette: Peach Pink, Charcoal Black, Soft White
Draw a simple cup shape, straight sides tapering slightly, with a lid half peeled back and a small cloud of steam rising from the gap. Give the cup two short stub legs beneath it and a small impatient face on the front, eyebrows pulled down, arms crossed.
The quick version, done in ten minutes, stops at the cup, legs, face and steam. For the forty-minute version, draw one leg lifted mid-tap with a tiny motion line underneath it, and add a small wristwatch doodle floating beside the character’s head to make the “waiting” idea unmistakable.
Noodle strands peeking over the rim are an easy extra touch: a few wavy curved lines just visible above the cup’s edge, drawn loosely rather than neatly coiled, suggest the noodles without needing to draw the whole bowl’s contents.
Color the steam in a very pale mint wash, barely-there, so it reads as vapor rather than solid cloud shapes.
Palette: Mint Green, Charcoal Black, Soft White
Revisit the bumpy cloud shape from earlier, this time drawn head-on and slightly hunched forward, with a tissue bunched in one small stub limb and a red marker dot on its “nose” area if you give it a tiny center bump to sneeze from.
The sneeze itself is a tiny burst of short rain-line squiggles shooting out from the front of the cloud rather than the usual straight vertical rain lines, breaking the pattern just enough to read as an explosive sneeze instead of regular weather.
Eye level matters here: draw the cloud slightly below the reader’s eye line, looking up and sideways mid-sneeze, which makes the whole pose feel more sudden and caught off guard than a straight-on view would.
Color the tissue plain white and the tiny sneeze-rain in pale mint, keeping the cloud body itself in outline only so the burst of lines stays the clear focal point.
Palette: Mint Green, Charcoal Black, Soft White
Draw a simple standing figure, rounded head and loose body shape, one arm raised holding a large single leaf overhead like an umbrella, the stem gripped in her hand. Keep the leaf’s veins as just two or three simple lines rather than a detailed network, since this is a quick doodle, not a botanical study.
A scattering of straight rain lines falls around her at a consistent diagonal angle, all leaning the same direction, which is the detail that makes rain read as rain rather than random scribbles. Her expression stays mildly resigned rather than panicked, a small flat mouth and slightly raised eyebrows.
If you have never drawn rain before, practice the angle on scrap paper first: every line needs to lean the same way and roughly the same length, or the rain looks chaotic instead of falling.
Color the leaf in mint green with a slightly darker scribbled vein line, and leave her coat or sweater in a light peach fill for warmth against the grey rain lines.
Palette: Mint Green, Peach Pink, Charcoal Black
Draw a round tangerine body with the peel partly pulled back on one side, like a jacket half taken off one shoulder, two small round paws holding the peel’s edge. The trick to this pose is drawing the peel section slightly separated from the fruit body underneath, a thin gap of white space between them, rather than overlapping them tightly.
Give the face a shy, closed-eye smile with a faint blush, eyes angled slightly downward and away, avoiding the reader’s gaze the way someone shy would.
If the peel looks like it is just floating beside the tangerine rather than attached, add one small curled flap still connected at the top, like a real tangerine peel does when you start pulling it. That single connection point keeps the whole idea readable.
Color the peel bright in an orange-leaning peach pink and leave the inner fruit segment lines in plain black fineliner, no fill, for contrast.
Palette: Peach Pink, Charcoal Black, Soft White
Draw a simple wide bowl shape filled with a soft mound of rice on top, textured with a handful of small curved scribble marks rather than individual grains. Give the bowl two stub arms, one bent up at the elbow in a classic flexing pose, a tiny bump drawn on the arm for the “muscle.”
The face sits on the rice mound itself, a proud squinting grin with eyebrows raised high. A single small star or spark mark beside the flexed arm pushes the triumphant feeling a little further without adding any real drawing time.
Comparing the flexed arm to the other resting arm helps keep the joke clear: make the flexed one noticeably more bent and its little muscle bump obvious, while the other arm stays loose and straight, so the contrast reads instantly even at doodle size.
Color the rice mound in a pale cream wash if you have it, otherwise plain white with black fineliner texture scribbles works just as well.
Palette: Charcoal Black, Soft White, Peach Pink
Draw a small round chick body, two tiny wing stubs, a small pointed beak and simple dot eyes, then draw the iced coffee cup noticeably taller and wider than the chick itself, both wings wrapped around it in a full hug. Getting that size difference right is the whole joke, so sketch the cup first at roughly double the chick’s height before adding the chick beside it.
Fill the cup with a few horizontal wavy lines for the coffee itself and small circles scattered through the lower half for ice, straw poking out the top at a slight angle. The chick’s cheeks carry a soft peach blush of pure contentment.
If the hug looks awkward, bring the chick’s whole body in close against the cup’s side rather than leaving a gap, wings stretched as far as they will go around the curve.
Color the coffee itself a light tan-peach and the cup outline plain black, keeping the ice circles white and unfilled for contrast.
Palette: Peach Pink, Charcoal Black, Soft White
Draw a simple curved stem shape with one small round bean-shaped head at the top, two tiny leaf shapes unfurling just below it. The stem can lean slightly to one side for a relaxed, just-woken posture rather than standing perfectly straight.
For the bedhead, draw several short messy lines sticking up and out from the top of the head at different angles and lengths, nothing symmetrical. Add one arm stretched up high overhead and the other rubbing an eye, the universal waking-up gesture.
A ten-minute version keeps the stem short and simple with just the messy hair and one stretching arm. For the forty-minute version, add a small shadow or crease line along the stem’s bent side to suggest it is still a little stiff from sleeping curled up.
Color the two small leaves mint green and leave the stem and head in plain outline, which keeps the whole character feeling light and sprout-like rather than heavy.
Palette: Mint Green, Charcoal Black, Soft White
Draw a long stretched-out cat body lying flat across a simple rectangle keyboard shape, legs tucked under or dangling off either side, tail curled loosely. The keyboard only needs a grid of a few short lines to suggest keys, not every single one.
Give the cat a flat, unbothered expression, half-lidded eyes looking straight at the reader, completely unmoved by whatever work is not getting done. One paw can rest heavily on a single key for extra effect.
Stretching the body convincingly across a rectangle is the trick here: draw the keyboard’s width first, then fit the cat’s body to stretch slightly past both edges, since cats rarely fit neatly within the furniture they sit on.
Color the keyboard a plain light mint grey-green and leave the cat in black and white outline with maybe one or two simple stripe marks along its back.
Palette: Mint Green, Charcoal Black, Soft White
If you enjoy drawing cats in everyday poses, there is a wider set of ideas in animal doodle painting ideas for beginners worth exploring next.
Draw a wide shallow bowl filled with a rounded mound of rice, then place a fried egg on top as a simple white oval with a smaller bright yellow circle yolk slightly off-center. Give the yolk two small closed, relaxed eyes and a tiny content smile, as if genuinely sunbathing.
Two short stick arms rest behind the yolk’s “head” like a sun lounger pose, and a tiny pair of sunglasses drawn as two small ovals connected by a thin bridge line sits across the top of the yolk for the full lounging effect.
The egg white’s edge is the part worth loosening up: real fried egg whites have uneven, slightly ruffled edges rather than a perfect oval, so let your outline wobble and bulge a little as you draw around it.
Color the yolk a warm peach-orange and leave the egg white in plain outline with no fill, letting the white paper do the work.
Palette: Peach Pink, Charcoal Black, Soft White
Draw a simple thin rectangle for the seaweed sheet, slightly curled at one corner, two small legs tiptoeing in an exaggerated high-step pose, knees lifted well above where legs would normally bend. The whole point of this one is the comic urgency of its escape, so keep the pose stretched and dramatic.
A worried glance back over one shoulder, drawn as a small simple face turned to look behind it, adds to the fleeing feeling. A pile of rice and a kimbap-rolling mat can sit in the background corner of the page to explain what it is running from, kept very small and simple.
Varying it next time is easy here: once the basic tiptoeing seaweed works, try the same pose with the sheet already halfway rolled around a strip of rice, caught mid-escape rather than before it starts.
Keep the seaweed sheet black with a thin fineliner outline only, no marker fill, since the dark rectangle shape reads clearly against white paper on its own.
Palette: Charcoal Black, Rice White, Mint Green
Draw the same round, pudgy bear shape from earlier, this time collapsed forward over a simple rectangle desk, head resting on folded arms, one paw still loosely holding a pencil upright on the desk surface. The eyes stay closed, mouth slightly open, fully asleep mid-task.
A few papers scattered under the desk with simple wavy scribble lines suggest unfinished work without needing real handwriting. A single small zzz mark floating above the bear’s head confirms the nap in one quick symbol.
Getting the slump right means letting the whole upper body sag heavily onto the desk rather than sitting upright with just the head tipped down. Round the back into a soft curve from shoulders to head for a believable collapse.
Color the papers a very pale mint and leave the bear and desk in plain black outline, keeping the color minimal so the sleepy pose stays the clear focus.
Palette: Mint Green, Charcoal Black, Soft White
Bring back your round hamster shape, this time sitting upright with a pale mint sheet mask over its face cut with simple eye holes, exactly the same sheet mask trick used earlier on the girl lying flat. Two tiny paws each hold a thin cucumber slice up near the eyes, slightly overlapping the mask’s eye holes.
Keep the hamster’s cheeks their usual round pudgy shape, bulging slightly past the edge of the mask, since that contrast between the tiny serious skincare ritual and the hamster’s naturally chubby face is most of the joke.
A dry brush or slightly scratchy marker stroke across the mask’s surface, dragged lightly rather than pressed hard, can suggest the thin damp texture of a real sheet mask if you want a bit more surface interest.
Color the cucumber slices a fresh mint green with a thin black fineliner ring at the edge for the peel, and leave the mask itself a flat pale wash.
Palette: Mint Green, Peach Pink, Charcoal Black
Draw your round rice ball shape, black triangle seaweed strip across the front as usual, but this time both small paws pressed flat against the face covering the eyes entirely, only the top of the head and the seaweed strip visible above the hands. One leg lifts slightly as if caught mid-step, frozen in embarrassment.
A tiny motion line or two beside one hidden hand, as if it just finished a small limp wave before clamping over the face, tells the whole awkward story in a single gesture without needing any other figure in the scene.
The giveaway detail to get right is the ears or top of the head peeking out just above the covering paws, rather than hiding the whole head completely, since a face fully gone reads as invisible rather than embarrassed.
Color the seaweed strip solid black and leave the rice ball’s round body plain white, with a faint peach blush just visible at the very edges past the covering paws.
Palette: Charcoal Black, Peach Pink, Soft White
For more small food and cafe characters in this same style, the companion list at soft cute Korean doodle ideas is worth a look.
This one ends the list with your most exaggerated shape, so save it for last: draw the dumpling crescent shape squeezed noticeably flat and wide, bulging out past two straight vertical door lines on either side, like it got caught right as the doors shut. The usual round pleats along the top edge stretch out into a thinner, flattened row to match the squash.
Give it a comically flat, startled face, eyes wide and round, mouth a small flat line of shock, both tiny arms pressed flat against the door lines. A couple of straight horizontal speed lines beside the doors suggest the train was already moving.
Exaggerating the squish convincingly means widening the dumpling well beyond its normal proportions while flattening its height, rather than keeping the original round shape and just adding door lines over it. The distortion is the entire joke, so push it further than feels natural.
Color the subway doors a plain mint grey and leave the squished dumpling itself in warm peach tones for contrast, a last cheerful note to close the page on.
Palette: Mint Green, Peach Pink, Charcoal Black
What to Do Next
Pick whichever face matches your mood today, sulking rice cake or sleepy dumpling, and draw it first in pencil-light fineliner strokes on a plain notebook page before adding the peach pink and mint green accents. One finished character is a complete page on its own, so there is no need to fit more than one or two into a single sitting.
Frequently Asked Questions
What pens work best for korean doodle funny characters?
A black fineliner in a fine to medium tip gives clean, consistent outlines for these characters. Add peach pink and mint green alcohol or brush markers for blush, steam, sauce and clothing accents, keeping the palette small and consistent across the page.
Do I need to know Korean food to draw these characters?
No, you only need the basic shape of each food, a rice cake’s soft oval, a dumpling’s pleated crescent, a kimbap roll’s cylinder. The personality and expression on top of that shape is what makes each doodle funny.
How do I make a doodle look funny rather than just cute?
Exaggerate one feature past what feels natural, droopy eyes, a flattened squish, arms thrown wide in a faint. A small mismatch between a calm shape and a dramatic pose or expression is usually what gets the laugh.
How long does each korean doodle funny character take to draw?
Most of these take between five and twenty minutes once the basic shapes feel familiar. Simpler ones like the rice cake or tangerine suit a quick ten-minute sitting, while poses with props take closer to thirty or forty minutes.
What if I only have a black pen and no markers?
Every character still reads clearly in black fineliner alone, since the expression and pose carry the joke, not the color. Add color later with whatever you have, even colored pencil works fine for the blush and accent touches.
