33 Kpop Drawing Ideas of Neon Stages, Light Stick Oceans and Photocard Trades

8

Kpop drawing ideas are the best excuse to pull out your brightest markers and draw a whole world that only exists in your sketchbook: your own idols, your own fan moments, no logos or real faces to worry about getting right. These scenes let you play with neon stage lighting, a stadium full of light sticks, and the small quiet moments of fan life like sorting photocards on the bedroom floor.

Below you will find 33 of them, starting simple and building up to busier group scenes and lighting effects, each one built for a thin fineliner outline and smooth alcohol marker color. Pick whichever one makes you grin first and work through the steps, you can realistically finish most of these in one sitting.

Start with the idol mid spin on a neon stage since it sets the tone for the whole set: big energy, bold color, nothing fussy. Sketch the figure first in pencil as a simple lean, one leg lifted, arms swept out, then ink the outline with your fineliner once the pose feels balanced.

Block the stage floor in electric pink and lavender with your widest marker nib, leaving the figure white until the background dries so colors do not bleed into the outline. Color the outfit next in cyan with a lemon yellow accent somewhere small, like a belt or a shoe, to keep your eye moving.

The spin goes wrong most often when the arms and skirt or jacket hem do not follow the same direction of motion, so draw a few light curved guide lines first to check everything swings the same way. If confetti feels fiddly, swap tiny torn paper dots pressed onto wet marker for drawn shapes.

Finish with a white gel pen flicking a few confetti pieces over the dried color so they sit crisp on top.

You Will Need

• white gel pen for confetti

From the figure you just finished, move to the view that figure would see: a sea of glowing light sticks stretching out from the back of a stadium. Draw the horizon line low on the page so most of the space goes to the crowd, then pencil in rows of small round light stick tops getting smaller toward the back.

Ink only the light stick shapes and a loose suggestion of shoulders below them, skipping individual faces entirely. Color the glow in cyan and lavender with soft circles of white left in the center of each one for the brightest point, then darken the space between lights with a thin layer of grey or deep purple.

This scene goes flat if every light stick looks identical, so vary a handful in size and tilt as if people are waving them at different moments. No stadium lighting kit at home is fine, a desk lamp turned low and a dark room will show you how the glow reads against shadow.

Keep the darkest marker for last so the lights still look like they are glowing against it.

Palette: Cyan,Lavender,Silver Grey,Deep Purple

Try this one from a slightly higher angle too, looking down over the crowd instead of straight across it, to practice how the light sticks overlap and recede.

After the scale of the last scene, pull the focus right in close for a fan sorting photocards into a binder on her bedroom floor. Pencil her sitting cross legged from a slightly high angle so you see the binder pages and scattered cards spread around her more than her face.

Ink the binder, the loose cards and her hands first since they carry the story, then her simple seated shape last. Color the cards in small flat blocks of different brights, pink, cyan, lavender, so they read as a cheerful mess rather than one blob, and keep her outfit a quieter grey or cream so the cards stay the star.

Hands holding small rectangular cards are the trickiest part, so draw the card as a simple parallelogram first and fit simplified fingers around it rather than drawing fingers then forcing a card between them. If you do not want to draw a full binder, a shoebox lid with cards leaning against it works just as well.

Leave every card blank and plain colored, no faces or logos, to keep the whole scene your own invented world.

Palette: Electric Pink,Cyan,Lavender,Warm Cream

Carry that quiet household moment into a busier one: five idols practicing the same move in a dance studio mirror. Keep this manageable by drawing one simplified figure and then tracing a lighter copy of it four more times with small spacing adjustments, since real mirror lines repeat a pose rather than inventing five new ones.

Measure the gap between each figure with your pencil before inking, keeping shoulders roughly level across the row so the lineup reads as practiced rather than scattered. Ink the mirror frame and floor lines first for structure, then the five bodies, then reflections lighter and looser behind them if you want the mirror effect.

This scene falls apart fastest when the five poses drift out of sync, so check each one against your first figure before you ink any of them. Color the outfits in one shared palette, cyan tops with lavender bottoms, so the group reads as a unit rather than five separate characters.

Keep faces minimal, just a simple nose and mouth line, so the focus stays on the shared pose.

Palette: Cyan,Lavender,Silver Grey,Charcoal

If five full figures feels like too much for one sitting, draw three in full and sketch two more only as light pencil silhouettes behind them.

Zoom back in for the nervous fan sliding an album across a fansign table, a small moment that carries a lot of feeling in very few shapes. Pencil the table as a simple horizontal band across the lower third of the page, with her hands and the album the closest thing to the viewer.

Ink the album and her hands with the most careful line weight since they are the focal point, then loosen up on her shoulders and the edge of the table so nothing competes with the gesture. Color her knuckles slightly pale where they grip the album to suggest nerves, and keep the table itself in a flat neutral so the pink or lavender album cover pops forward.

Hands under tension tend to stiffen on paper, so if yours looks wooden, soften the finger joints slightly and angle the thumb inward rather than straight. No fansign table reference on hand is fine, any table edge with something sliding across it from a photo works as a stand in for the angle.

Add one small detail, a sticker on the album corner, to give the scene a personal touch.

Palette: Electric Pink,Lavender,Warm Cream,Charcoal

Answer the last scene with its warmest reply: an idol drawing a little heart on a fan’s album at a fansign. Pencil the idol leaning forward over the table with a marker in hand, the album tilted toward the viewer so the small heart she is drawing stays visible and central.

Ink the album and the hand holding the marker first since the heart needs to land in exactly the right spot, then build the idol’s upper body and simple smiling face around that anchor point. Color her in a pastel stage outfit, soft pink or lavender, so she reads as warm and approachable rather than in full performance mode.

The heart itself is the easiest part to get wrong by overworking it, so draw it small and a little uneven on purpose since a too perfect heart looks stamped rather than hand drawn. If a tilted album feels hard to foreshorten, draw it flat on and simply angle her head and shoulders toward it instead.

Keep her expression soft, a closed smile and relaxed eyes, so the moment feels gentle rather than staged.

Palette: Electric Pink,Lavender,Warm Cream,Lemon Yellow

Scale back up for four idols in matching pastel stage outfits striking a pose together, a good chance to practice a confident group layout. Pencil a loose triangular or diamond arrangement, one figure slightly forward, two at the sides, one tucked behind, so the group reads as composed rather than lined up flat.

Think about where your light source sits before inking, since one strong light from above and slightly to one side will throw matching soft shadows under all four chins and along one side of each outfit, tying the group together visually. Ink the front figure fully first, then the others with slightly lighter line weight to push them back in space.

Color all four outfits in the same pastel family, lavender with a cyan trim repeated on each, so the matching costume idea reads clearly even in a quick glance. If four full figures feels like a lot, simplify the back two to waist up only, cropped by the front figures.

One light source, one shared shadow direction, is the fastest way to make four separate drawings look like one team.

Palette: Lavender,Cyan,Warm Cream,Silver Grey

Step outside the venue for fans in puffy coats waiting in a long concert queue in the cold, a scene that leans on silhouette more than detail. Pencil a row of rounded, bulky coat shapes receding into the distance, each one simplified to an oval body and a small round hood or hat on top.

Ink the two or three closest figures with full detail, scarves, bag straps, a light stick peeking out of a pocket, then let the rest of the line become looser rounded shapes with barely any inked detail at all. Color the coats in a mix of lavender, cyan and cream so the queue feels varied rather than uniform, and keep the ground a cool pale grey to read as cold pavement.

Puffy coats go wrong when they are drawn too flat, so round every edge outward like a stuffed cushion rather than a straight line. If a long receding queue feels tricky to plan, draw just four figures close together and let the edge of the page suggest the line continues.

Breathe a little steam from one figure’s mouth in pale grey marker to sell the cold instantly.

Palette: Lavender,Cyan,Warm Cream,Silver Grey

After a crowd scene, bring it back to one playful close up: an idol making a finger heart with a playful wink. Pencil the hand first since the small finger heart shape needs to read clearly, thumb and index finger crossed into a tiny heart held up near the face.

Ink the hand and finger heart with careful clean lines since this is the focal point, then build her face around it, one eye closed in the wink and the other bright and direct toward the viewer. Color her in a sparkly jacket, cyan with silver marker dots dabbed on while the color is still slightly tacky for a glittery look.

The wink is the easy part to overdo, so keep the closed eye a simple curved line rather than heavy lashes, which can read as squinting instead of playful. No silver marker on hand is fine, a white gel pen dotted sparingly over dried cyan gives nearly the same sparkle.

Finish by leaving one small white highlight dot in her open eye to make the whole expression feel alive.

You Will Need

• silver marker or white gel pen for sparkle dots

Palette: Electric Pink,Cyan,Silver Grey,Warm Cream

Match that joy with its mirror image: a fan crying happy tears with her light stick held high. Pencil her face tilted slightly up, light stick arm raised fully overhead, so the whole pose reads as overwhelmed joy rather than sadness.

Ink her face first, focusing on wide bright eyes with a few small tear drop shapes below them, then the raised arm and light stick glowing above her. Color her cheeks warm pink and let the light stick glow in cyan with a soft white center, using the light to cast a faint cyan tint across her upturned face.

Tears read as sad rather than happy if the mouth droops, so keep her mouth in a wide open smile or laugh shape even while the tears fall. If drawing tear drops feels fiddly, two or three small glossy highlight dots along the cheek read just as well as full drop shapes.

Add a faint pink blush across her nose too, it warms the whole face instantly.

Palette: Electric Pink,Cyan,Warm Cream,Silver Grey

Bring the focus back to the stage with an idol in a sparkly jacket singing into a headset microphone, a classic performance pose worth having in your sketchbook. Pencil the head tilted slightly with mouth open mid note, the thin headset band and small mic arm curving close to the cheek.

Ink the headset carefully first since a mic arm that floats away from the face reads as a mistake immediately, then the face and finally the jacket. Color the jacket in cyan with small silver marker flecks for sparkle, and warm the face with a light pink glow as if colored stage lighting is hitting one side.

An open singing mouth often reads as shouting rather than singing, so keep the jaw only loosely dropped and angle the eyebrows slightly raised and soft instead of furrowed. No headset reference handy, any photo of over ear headphones gives you the band shape to adapt.

Let one side of the face stay a touch darker than the other to suggest the stage light is coming from one direction.

Palette: Cyan,Electric Pink,Silver Grey,Warm Cream

Slow right down for a sleepy idol napping on the practice room floor between rehearsals, a gentle contrast to all the stage energy so far. Pencil her curled on her side on the floor, knees drawn up, one arm tucked under her head as a pillow, with practice clothes rather than stage wear.

Ink the curled body shape first in one continuous flowing line so the pose reads as relaxed rather than stiff, then add a few floor details, a water bottle, a towel, nearby. Color her in soft lavender practice wear rather than anything sparkly, and add a pale cyan rectangle of light from a studio window to anchor the setting.

Sleeping poses collapse into looking uncomfortable when the spine is drawn too straight, so curve the back and tuck the knees in further than feels natural at first. If floor mirrors feel hard to draw, a plain studio wall behind her works just as well and keeps the focus on the figure.

Add two or three short curved lines near her mouth for a peaceful, slightly open sleeping expression.

Palette: Lavender,Cyan,Warm Cream,Silver Grey

Move backstage for a stylist pinning a glittery jacket on an idol, a two person scene that lets you practice drawing figures interacting rather than posing alone. Pencil the idol standing still with arms slightly out, the stylist kneeling or leaning in close with a pin or clip between her fingers.

Ink the point of contact first, the pin, the jacket fabric gathered at the shoulder, since that small detail tells the whole story, then build both figures outward from it. Color the jacket in cyan with silver marker dabbed on for glitter, and keep the stylist in a plainer grey or cream outfit so she does not compete with the idol’s sparkle.

Two figures close together often end up floating apart on the page, so overlap their silhouettes slightly, a sleeve crossing in front of a shoulder, to lock them into one scene. If kneeling feels tricky to draw, have the stylist standing and adjusting a collar instead, it tells the same story with an easier pose.

Keep both expressions calm and focused, this is a quiet working moment rather than a dramatic one.

You Will Need

• silver marker for glitter dabs

Palette: Cyan,Silver Grey,Warm Cream,Charcoal

Return to fan life for two friends trading photocards at a café table like a secret deal, a fun small story told almost entirely through hands and a tabletop. Pencil the table from a slightly angled overhead view, two cups, two sets of hands, cards mid slide between them.

Ink the cards and hands first since the exchange is the whole point of the drawing, keeping cards as simple flat rectangles, then add the cups, table edge and finally the two faces leaning in close as if whispering. Color one friend’s cards in pink tones and the other’s in cyan so you can visually track whose cards are whose even without reading anything.

This scene flattens out if the table is drawn straight on, so tilt the whole tabletop into a gentle oval perspective to give it depth. If a café setting feels like too much background, a plain tablecloth pattern behind the hands is enough context on its own.

Lean the two heads in close together at the top of the frame, it instantly reads as a shared secret.

Palette: Electric Pink,Cyan,Warm Cream,Lavender

Zoom into one of the happiest fan reactions there is: a fan opening an album and gasping at the photocard inside. Pencil her from the chest up, album held open toward the viewer, mouth dropped open and eyes wide and bright with surprise.

Ink the open album and the small photocard peeking from its sleeve first since that is the payoff of the whole drawing, then build her shocked expression around it, eyebrows raised high, hands slightly trembling near the edges of the album. Color her cheeks a flushed pink and let a soft cyan glow radiate from the album as if the card itself is the brightest thing in the scene.

Shock expressions flatten out if the eyebrows and mouth do not match, so keep both wide open together rather than one subtle and one extreme. If drawing an open album at an angle feels tricky, draw it flat and straight toward the viewer instead and simply tilt her head to one side.

Add a tiny sparkle or two near the card corner to sell the sense that this card is something special.

Palette: Electric Pink,Cyan,Warm Cream,Lavender

Widen the shot again for an idol waving from a moving cart circling the stadium, a fun chance to draw motion and a crowd together. Pencil the cart as a simple low platform shape on a track, idol standing and waving on top, with a loose crowd of simplified heads and raised light sticks along the edge below.

Ink the cart and the idol fully, then the nearest few crowd members with a little more detail, letting the rest of the crowd fade into soft colored shapes without faces. Color the idol in a bright stage outfit, electric pink with silver trim, so she pops instantly against the cooler cyan and lavender crowd below.

Motion reads weakly if everything sits still, so angle a few hair strands and jacket edges slightly backward as if the cart is moving forward. No stadium cart reference handy, picture a parade float moving slowly and borrow that same low platform shape.

Keep the crowd’s light sticks slightly blurred at the tips with a lighter marker pass to suggest they are waving rather than frozen.

Palette: Electric Pink,Silver Grey,Cyan,Lavender

Come back indoors for a fan decorating a photocard holder with stickers and charms, a craft moment full of small satisfying shapes. Pencil the holder large in the frame, held slightly tilted in both hands, stickers and charms scattered loosely around it on the surface below.

Ink the holder outline and the photocard slot first, then the stickers as simple rounded shapes, stars, hearts, small flowers, rather than anything detailed, since a cluttered sticker sheet reads busy fast. Color each sticker a different bright from your palette, pink, cyan, lemon yellow, so the holder looks playfully mismatched on purpose.

This scene overwhelms itself if every sticker gets full color and shading, so pick two or three to render fully and leave the rest as flat single color shapes. If charms feel fiddly to draw small, a few simple dangling circles on thin lines read as charms without needing detail.

Leave the card slot itself empty and pale so your eye still lands there first despite all the decoration around it.

Palette: Electric Pink,Cyan,Lemon Yellow,Warm Cream

Return to the stage for a quieter backstage beat within it: an idol fixing her in ear monitor under purple stage lights. Pencil her head tilted slightly with one hand reaching up near her ear, the in ear monitor wire running down along her neck and disappearing into her collar.

Ink the wire and monitor piece carefully first since a missing or floating wire is the first thing that reads as wrong here, then the hand and face around it. Color her whole figure under a heavy wash of lavender and deep purple light, letting one warmer pink rim light trace the edge of her face and hand for contrast.

Purple stage light flattens features if it covers everything evenly, so keep one small warm highlight, that pink rim light, so her face does not disappear into the color wash. No purple reference handy, picture a photo taken in a dim room lit by one colored bulb and match that mood.

Let the monitor wire catch a tiny white gel pen highlight so it reads as shiny plastic rather than a flat line.

You Will Need

• white gel pen for highlight

Palette: Lavender,Deep Purple,Electric Pink,Silver Grey

Shift the energy for a rapper idol in an oversized hoodie posing on stage stairs, a good chance to draw a looser, more confident silhouette than the idols so far. Pencil the stairs as a simple diagonal set of steps, the idol leaning back against them or seated low with one knee up, hoodie drawn deliberately oversized and slouchy.

Ink the hoodie’s loose folds first since the oversized fit is the whole character of the pose, letting the fabric pool and fold rather than hug the body, then the stairs and the rest of the figure. Color the hoodie in cyan or silver grey with a flat matte finish, saving your brightest pink or lemon yellow for one small accent, a chain or a sneaker detail.

Oversized clothing reads as shapeless if you lose the body underneath entirely, so lightly pencil the real shoulder and arm lines first and only then draw the loose hoodie fabric hanging slightly outside them. If stage stairs feel tricky in perspective, a simple low platform box works as a stand in.

Keep the expression relaxed, half lidded eyes and a loose mouth, to match the confident slouch of the pose.

Palette: Cyan,Silver Grey,Lemon Yellow,Charcoal

Soften things again for a fan hugging a plush doll of her favorite invented idol, a cozy scene built around texture more than pose. Pencil her sitting or lying with the doll held tight against her chest, both arms wrapped fully around it so the doll nearly disappears into the hug.

Ink the doll’s simplified round features first, big eyes, a simple costume echoing one of your earlier idol outfits, then her arms and face wrapped around it. Color the doll in soft pastel versions of an idol’s stage colors, a muted pink and lavender, and let her own clothes stay plain and cozy so the doll’s color pops.

Plush toys look stiff if drawn with sharp edges, so round every seam and edge outward and let the doll’s shape sink slightly into her arms as if the fabric is soft and giving. No specific doll shape in mind, round plush shapes modeled loosely on any stuffed animal reference give you the softness you need.

Add a few small stitched line details, like simple seams, to sell the plush texture without extra shading.

Palette: Electric Pink,Lavender,Warm Cream,Silver Grey

Bring the stage energy to its biggest moment yet: idols bowing together at the end of a show as streamers rain down. Pencil a row of simplified bowing figures from the chest up, heads lowered and arms slightly forward, with long streamer shapes falling across the whole upper half of the page.

Ink the row of figures first, keeping them uniform in height and bow angle so the moment reads as one coordinated gesture, then add the streamers as long curved ribbon shapes falling at varied angles over everything. Color the figures in a shared stage palette, cyan and silver, and let the streamers themselves carry the brightest colors, pink, lemon yellow, lavender, since they are the real stars of this composition.

Streamers look stiff if drawn as straight lines, so curve each one gently like a falling ribbon caught mid air, varying the curve direction across the page. If a full row of figures feels like too much, three bowing figures with streamers filling the rest of the space tell the same story.

Let a few streamers overlap the figures’ heads and shoulders to really sell the sense that they are falling through the whole scene.

Palette: Cyan,Silver Grey,Electric Pink,Lemon Yellow

Bring the energy back down to a bedroom for a fan practicing a dance cover in front of her bedroom mirror, a nice companion piece to the earlier studio scene. Pencil her mid pose facing a simple framed mirror, with a lighter reflected copy of the same pose drawn behind the frame edge.

Ink her real figure first with full detail, then the mirrored version slightly looser and a touch smaller if the mirror sits at an angle, which helps sell the illusion of distance inside the reflection. Color her in casual home clothes rather than a stage outfit, and let a phone propped against a pillow in the corner hint at her playing reference footage.

Mirror reflections confuse beginners most around which side flips, so remember left and right swap but up and down do not, and double check her raised arm appears on the opposite side in the reflection. No mirror frame handy to reference, a plain rectangle with a thin inner line for the glass edge reads clearly enough.

Keep her expression focused and a little determined, mid count rather than posed perfectly, to capture the practice feel.

Palette: Lavender,Cyan,Warm Cream,Silver Grey

If you want to practice this scene again with a different feel for drawing girls in everyday poses, try a standing stretch instead of a dance hold.

Follow her practice session with the quieter end of a concert night: a tired fan on the subway home still holding her glowing light stick. Pencil her slouched against a subway seat or pole, eyes half closed, light stick resting loosely in her lap still faintly glowing.

Ink her slouched posture first, rounding her shoulders forward and letting her head tilt against the seat or window, then the light stick and a simple suggestion of subway seats or a window behind her. Color her in a cooler, slightly muted palette than the concert scenes, dusty lavender and grey, with the light stick staying the brightest cyan point in the whole picture to show it is still glowing even now.

Exhaustion reads weakly if the pose stays upright and alert, so really commit to the slump, heavy eyelids, loose hands, a bag sliding off one shoulder. If a subway interior feels like too much detail, a plain window shape with a few blurred light streaks outside tells the setting instantly.

Let the light stick’s glow cast a faint cyan tint onto her nearby hand to tie her to the light even in this quiet moment.

Palette: Lavender,Silver Grey,Cyan,Charcoal

Lighten the mood for an idol eating snacks backstage still in full stage makeup, a funny little contrast between glamour and ordinary hunger. Pencil her seated on a crate or low chair, snack halfway to her mouth, stage makeup and a sparkly earring still fully intact against her casual slouched posture.

Ink the makeup details first, sharp eyeliner, glossy lips, since that contrast is the whole joke, then the snack and her more relaxed, informal pose around it. Color her stage makeup in strong electric pink and silver tones, then keep everything else around her plain and undecorated, a cardboard box, a plain hoodie thrown over her shoulders, to really highlight the mismatch.

This idea loses its humor if her pose looks as polished as her face, so slouch the shoulders, let one leg splay out, maybe let crumbs sit near her mouth. No specific snack in mind, any simple wrapped snack shape or a skewer of food works, keep it generic and uncomplicated to draw.

Add one smudge of glitter near her cheek from the stage lights earlier, a tiny detail that sells the backstage story.

Palette: Electric Pink,Silver Grey,Warm Cream,Charcoal

Turn up the drama for an idol dancing through a rain soaked stage with water splashing, one of the more involved scenes in this set but worth the extra time. Pencil her mid movement, one foot striking down into a puddle, water drops flying outward from the impact, hair and clothing clinging slightly with wetness.

Ink the splash shapes first since they anchor the whole sense of motion, small curved droplet shapes radiating from the foot, then her figure with a few clinging strands of wet hair plastered close to her face and neck. Color her outfit in deep cyan, darker than your usual flat cyan, to read as soaked through, and let silver marker streaks run vertically down the background to suggest falling rain.

Wet hair and fabric look dry instantly if drawn with the same loose flowing lines as normal, so flatten strands and fabric folds closer to the body than you would otherwise. If splashing water feels hard to place, look at any photo of someone jumping in a puddle and borrow that same radiating droplet pattern.

Leave a few bright white gel pen highlights on the wettest surfaces, her shoulder, the puddle itself, to really sell the shine.

You Will Need

• white gel pen for wet highlights

Palette: Deep Cyan,Silver Grey,Lavender,Charcoal

Step away from the stage entirely for a fan with a big camera waiting at an airport gate, a quieter scene built mostly around waiting and anticipation. Pencil her standing with a large camera held up near her chest, strap around her neck, eyes fixed on a point slightly off frame as if watching for someone to appear.

Ink the camera first since its size and shape tell the whole story, a big lens, a visible strap, then her simple standing posture and alert expression around it. Color her in practical travel clothes, cream and silver grey, with one small pop of lavender or pink somewhere, a scarf or phone case, to keep her from blending into a flat neutral scene.

A big camera reads as a small blob if you do not give the lens real width, so draw the lens barrel clearly wider than the camera body before you add any buttons or dials. No airport reference handy, any photo of someone standing with luggage at a gate gives you the posture and setting cues you need.

Add a tired but excited expression, slightly wide eyes, a small smile, to show she has been waiting a while but has not lost the thrill of it.

Palette: Warm Cream,Silver Grey,Lavender,Electric Pink

Bring the energy back up for an idol giving a high five to a fan over the barrier, a nice two person moment that mixes performance and genuine connection. Pencil the barrier as a simple horizontal line across the lower part of the page, the idol leaning out over it, hand extended down, the fan reaching up to meet it.

Ink the point of contact first, the two hands meeting, since that is the emotional center of the whole drawing, then build both figures outward from there, the idol’s confident lean and the fan’s excited upward reach. Color the idol in a bright stage outfit and the fan in something plainer, letting the moment of contact sit right at the brightest part of your composition.

Hands meeting at an angle often end up looking like they are simply near each other rather than truly touching, so overlap the fingers slightly rather than placing the two hands edge to edge. If a barrier feels hard to draw convincingly, a simple low fence or railing shape reads just as clearly.

Give both faces genuine wide smiles, since this moment works best when the joy reads equally on both sides of the barrier.

Palette: Electric Pink,Cyan,Warm Cream,Silver Grey

Return to a posed group shot for a girl group of three in pleated stage skirts and blazers, a tighter and simpler trio than the earlier four person lineup. Pencil the three in a shallow triangle, one slightly forward, two behind and to each side, all three skirts flaring slightly as if caught mid turn.

Ink the pleats on the skirts with short repeated parallel lines fanning outward from the waist, since that repeated line pattern is what makes a pleated skirt read correctly rather than looking like a plain triangle. Color the blazers in a shared silver grey with lavender skirts, keeping all three uniforms identical so the trio reads as a coordinated unit.

Pleats flatten out if the lines run perfectly straight and evenly spaced, so vary the spacing slightly and let a few lines curve gently with the fabric’s movement. If three full figures in one sitting feels ambitious, draw the front figure complete and the back two as simpler silhouettes with just the pleats and blazer color blocked in.

Keep all three expressions bright and open, matching energy across the trio sells the group feeling as much as the matching outfits do.

Palette: Lavender,Silver Grey,Electric Pink,Warm Cream

Shift to a sweeter fan tradition: setting up a birthday café table for her idol with a cake, decorations and a little printed stand in place of any real name. Pencil the table from a slightly high angle so you can fit the cake, a few small decorations and a simple standee shape all in view at once.

Ink the cake first since it anchors the whole table, keeping the design simple, a round shape with a few piped dot details and one candle, then the decorations and standee around it. Color the cake in cream and lemon yellow with a pink candle flame, and scatter a few lavender and cyan decorations, balloons or bunting shapes, around the edges of the table.

This scene gets cluttered fast if every object is rendered in full detail, so pick the cake as your one fully finished item and simplify everything else to flat color blocks with minimal linework. If a full café setting feels like too much, a single small table against a plain wall with just the cake and one decoration tells the same story.

Leave the standee’s face area blank or turned slightly away, keeping the whole scene invented rather than tied to anyone real.

Palette: Warm Cream,Lemon Yellow,Electric Pink,Lavender

Bring the outdoor festival feeling into focus with an idol tossing a water bottle into the crowd at a summer show, a scene full of upward reaching energy. Pencil her mid throw, arm extended up and back, bottle already airborne above her hand, with a cluster of raised arms reaching up from the crowd below to meet it.

Ink the bottle and her throwing arm first since the arc of the throw is the whole point of the composition, then the raised crowd hands beneath, keeping them simplified and overlapping rather than individually detailed. Color her in a bright summer stage outfit, cyan with a lemon yellow accent, and let the crowd below stay in cooler lavender and grey tones so she stands out clearly against them.

A thrown object looks static if it sits directly above the hand that released it, so place the bottle slightly ahead of her hand along the arc, as if it has already left her fingers. No real bottle shape handy to reference, a simple rounded rectangle with a small cap reads clearly enough at this distance.

Add a few small motion lines trailing behind the bottle to really sell the sense that it is flying rather than floating.

Palette: Cyan,Lemon Yellow,Lavender,Silver Grey

Lighten things considerably for a member laughing so hard he falls off his chair during a live stream, one of the most fun poses in this whole set to draw. Pencil him mid tip, chair tilted back on two legs, one arm flung out for balance, head thrown back in full laughter, with a phone or small ring light nearby suggesting the live stream setup.

Ink the tilted chair first since getting that tip angle right makes the whole joke land, then his sprawled limbs and thrown back head around it, exaggerating the laugh with squeezed shut eyes and a wide open mouth. Color him in a casual outfit rather than stage wear, and keep the background plain and uncluttered so the comedic pose stays the clear focus.

This pose flattens into confusion if the chair legs and his limbs do not clearly show the direction of the tip, so draw a light arrow in pencil first to track exactly which way gravity is pulling him before inking anything. If a tipping chair feels hard to draw convincingly, have him already on the floor laughing next to a toppled chair instead, which tells the same joke with an easier pose.

Draw a few small motion lines around the chair legs to catch that split second of falling.

Palette: Cyan,Warm Cream,Charcoal,Electric Pink

Return to the cold concert queue once more, this time close up on one fan in a fluffy hat holding a hand warmer in the concert line. Pencil her from the chest up, fluffy hat pulled down over her ears, both hands cupped together around a small hand warmer held close to her chest.

Ink the fluffy hat texture with short overlapping curved strokes rather than one smooth outline, since that broken repeated line is what reads as soft fuzzy fabric instead of a plain cap. Color the hat in warm cream or soft lavender, and let the hand warmer glow faintly in lemon yellow against her cupped fingers, with a cool lavender background suggesting the cold evening around her.

Fluffy texture flattens out if every stroke runs the same direction, so vary the angle of your short curved strokes slightly across the hat for a more convincingly uneven, fuzzy surface. If drawing fuzzy texture feels slow, a plain hat shape with just a few texture strokes along the edge still reads as fluffy at a glance.

Add small pink circles on her cheeks and nose to show the cold air, a simple detail that instantly warms up the mood of the whole piece.

Palette: Warm Cream,Lavender,Lemon Yellow,Electric Pink

If fuzzy textures interest you, the layered stroke technique here works just as well for soft fur on animal subjects in a future sketch.

Close the whole set on its quietest note: a trainee practicing alone in an empty studio at midnight, a scene that carries real weight after all the bright stage energy before it. Pencil her mid pose in the center of a large, mostly empty studio floor, a single light source overhead casting a tight pool of light around her with the rest of the room falling into shadow.

Ink the figure and the edge of the light pool first, keeping her pose a little tired, shoulders slightly dropped even mid movement, then let the corners of the room fade into looser, barely inked shapes, a water bottle, a bag, a dark mirror wall. Color her in plain practice clothes, muted lavender and grey, with the single overhead light rendered in warm cream so it contrasts clearly against the surrounding cool shadow.

This scene depends entirely on that light and dark contrast, so keep everything outside the lit circle noticeably darker than you think necessary, since a weak contrast here makes the midnight mood disappear completely. No overhead spotlight reference handy, a single desk lamp in a dark room shows you exactly how a tight pool of light falls off into shadow at the edges.

End with one small personal touch, a phone screen glowing faintly in the dark corner, to suggest the rest of the world going on without her.

What to Do Next

Pick one idea that matches the mood you are in today, a quiet bedroom scene if you want something calm or a neon stage moment if you want color and movement, and start with a light pencil sketch on marker safe paper before any ink touches the page. Work through the order in your sketchbook and you will have a whole invented fandom of your own by the time you reach the last page.

Frequently Asked Questions

What markers work best for kpop drawing ideas like these?

Alcohol based markers work best since they blend smoothly without streaking. Look for a set with a few brights (pink, cyan, lavender) and a cool grey for shading, plus marker safe paper so colors do not bleed through.

How do I draw kpop style faces without copying a real idol?

Keep features simplified and slightly stylized: large bright eyes, a small nose line, soft jaw. Mix your own hair color, outfit color and expression so the face reads as an original invented character rather than anyone real.

What is the easiest kpop drawing idea to start with?

Start with a single close up gesture like a finger heart or a wink, since one face and one hand teach you the style’s proportions fast without a full body pose or background to manage.

How do I make neon stage lighting look believable in marker?

Pick one or two light colors, usually pink or cyan, and let them tint the nearest edges of your subject rather than coloring everything evenly. Keep the darkest shadow color nearby so the glow reads as bright by contrast.

Do I need to draw a full background for every idea here?

No, most of these scenes work with a simple suggestion of setting, a light wash of color or a few loose shapes. Save full detailed backgrounds for the two or three busiest scenes, like the bowing finale or the rain soaked stage.
