This set of printable scrapbook paper backgrounds keeps things quiet on purpose: soft washes, gentle textures and faint grids with barely a motif in sight, made to sit under something else rather than compete with it. Think of them as the paper equivalent of a blank wall, the kind that makes a photo, a sticker or a line of handwriting look twice as good once it lands on top.
There are 21 sheets here, grouped into watercolor washes, soft textures, dotted and lined grids, and a handful of barely-there patterns, so you can pick a mood and stay in it across a whole spread. Print them on US Letter paper, either borderless or trimmed to size, and use a matte cardstock if you want them to feel calm rather than glossy.
Using these images: free for personal projects such as printing, coloring, cards, journals and gifts. Handmade items that include them may be sold up to 30 pieces per design. More than that is commercial use and is not permitted, and neither is selling or sharing the images themselves or passing them off as your own. Please ask before any other use.
Watercolor Washes
Faint tiny dots float across a pale blush watercolor wash, calm enough to sit behind a journaling card without pulling focus from the handwriting.
Soft white clouds drift over a pale sky blue ground, a gentle pick for a travel page or any spread that wants a little air in it.
Scattered white specks sit over a soft aqua watercolor wash, a light base for mounting a photo corner or tucking behind a wax seal.
Pale peach watercolor fades gently to white across the sheet, pairing well with the Blush Dot Wash Paper for a soft two-tone spread.
Loose watercolor brush strokes in mint and pink cross a white ground, a lively little base behind a cluster of washi tape or stickers.
Soft Textures
A pale mint linen weave carries a few scattered leaves, a steady base for a nature-themed journal page under a pressed flower or photo.
Soft pink crumpled tissue texture fills the sheet, nice for lining a small gift box or wrapping a little parcel tucked inside a seed packet junk journal page.
A pale sage canvas weave gives a quiet, steady ground for a folio cover or the inside flap of a handmade envelope.
A soft blue denim texture reads casual and cozy, a good match for the blue scrapbook paper set if you want more pattern options in the same tone.
Faint stripes run through a soft gray-blue linen texture, calm enough to back a row of small photos down a page.
A pale blush felt texture carries faint stitching lines in a grid, a soft close for a journal cover or the back of a card.
Dotted and Grid Papers
Soft lilac bokeh of light circles drifts across the page, a dreamy base behind a photo corner or a small cluster of stickers.
Faint gray grid lines cross a white ground like graph paper, a steady base for planning pages or lists in a junk journal.
A white dotted grid like a bullet journal page gives a quiet structure for notes, pairing neatly with the Graph Line Grid Paper for variety.
Very faint pastel confetti flecks scatter across a white ground, light enough to sit behind a birthday card sentiment without any clutter.
White notebook ruling in pale blue lines gives a familiar writing-page feel, ideal as a base under a sketchbook diary entry or journaling card.
Barely There Patterns
Tiny scattered gold stars rest on a blush ground, a touch of sparkle for a celebration card mat or a gift tag.
Faint polka dots sit tone on tone over a soft mint ground, understated enough to back a stack of ephemera on a collage page.
Soft white veins run through a pale lilac marble ground, a cool, smooth choice for an elegant card mat or the cover of a small booklet.
Tiny scattered white flowers dot a pale pink ground, a gentle companion to the pink scrapbook paper set for a softer finish on the same page.
A soft aqua terrazzo of pastel chips closes the set, a playful texture for a modern card mat or the lining of a keepsake box.

Frequently Asked Questions
What paper weight works best for these printable backgrounds?
A matte cardstock between 65 lb and 110 lb gives the best results for cards and journal covers. Lighter 32 lb paper works fine for pocket linings or gift wrap where the sheet needs to fold or fit inside an envelope.
Can I print these borderless on a home printer?
Yes, most home printers support borderless printing on US Letter paper if you select that option in the print settings. If your printer cannot print borderless, print at full page size and trim the thin white edge off with a paper trimmer.
Should I print on A4 or US Letter paper?
These sheets are sized for US Letter, so A4 printing will leave a small margin on one side. Select ‘fit to page’ in your print settings if you only have A4 paper on hand, then trim to your project size.
Can I use these as gift wrap for small presents?
Yes, the soft all-over patterns work well as gift wrap for small boxes, jewelry or stacks of cards. Print a few sheets, tape the edges together for a larger wrap, and add a ribbon in a matching pastel tone.
How do I keep a spread from looking too plain with only background papers?
Layer two or three of these sheets with different textures, then add a photo, a stamped sentiment or a die cut on top. The quiet pattern does the background work, so one small focal piece is usually enough per page.
