Table of Contents
This fall junk journal kit gives you 34 printable pages built around one warm autumn theme, so every sheet belongs together without ever repeating a subject. Inside are 24 full scene pages (a pumpkin patch at golden hour, an apple orchard with ladders and baskets, a cozy armchair by the fire), 5 seamless background patterns of acorns, plaid and falling leaves, and 5 lined writing pages trimmed with autumn borders for your own words.
Print the whole set on matte cardstock heavy enough to hold glue without curling, at your printer’s best or photo quality setting so the washes stay soft instead of streaky. Trim to your journal’s page size with scissors or a paper cutter, and keep the originals as a backup file before you cut into anything.
Using these images: free for personal projects such as printing, coloring, cards, journals and gifts. Handmade items that include them may be sold up to 30 pieces per design. More than that is commercial use and is not permitted, and neither is selling or sharing the images themselves or passing them off as your own. Please ask before any other use.
Pumpkin Patch Pages
Rows of pumpkins stretch across a field under a low autumn sun, with a wheelbarrow, a scarecrow and a split rail fence set around the edges.
Glue a small ticket stub or a handwritten price list onto this one, tucked beside the baskets of pumpkins so it reads like something bought on a drive out of town.
A hand painted wooden sign, a stack of crates and a few fallen leaves round out the stand, with a soft hedgerow painted behind the whole scene.
Pair this page with the acorn pattern background a few pages on: glue a strip of the pattern along the bottom edge like a tablecloth skirt before you add this scene on top.
A hay wagon pulled by a tractor carries baskets, a few loose pumpkins and a child’s mitten dropped on the straw, with an orchard painted along the horizon.
This works well as a gift page: a page like this suits a journal made for a grandchild or a young niece who loves the farm each fall.
Orchard And Harvest Pages
Rows of apple trees carry a wooden ladder leaned against one trunk, two baskets full of red apples on the ground, and a painted blue autumn sky stretching over the whole orchard.
Tear the right edge of this page unevenly before gluing it in, so the barrel and press look like they spill off the sheet into the next page of the spread.
A wooden cider press, a stack of apple crates and a jug catching the juice sit in front of a painted barn wall, with straw scattered across the ground.
A woven basket overflows with red and green apples beside a paring knife and a small pie dish, set on a painted wooden counter with a window of orchard trees behind it.
The usual mistake with a busy stand page is crowding every jar edge to edge: leave a little painted shadow between the honey jars and the cider jugs so each one still reads clearly against the stand.
Hearth And Home Pages
A worn armchair sits beside a crackling fireplace, draped in a knitted blanket, with a mug of cocoa, an open book and slippers warming on the hearth.
Write a short line here about what you are grateful for this season, since the quiet of this page suits a slow, reflective entry better than a list.
A wooden mantel holds three lit candles, a row of small gourds and a framed autumn photo, painted brick fireplace glowing softly behind the whole shelf.
For the five minute version of this page, paint just the basket of yarn and one knitting needle loosely, letting the window and curtain behind stay a simple soft wash rather than a detailed view.
A heavy pot simmers on the stovetop with a wooden spoon resting across it, a bundle of herbs and a loaf of bread nearby, painted tile wall behind the whole kitchen corner.
Woodland Walk Pages
A narrow dirt path winds through tall maple trees, scattered with fallen leaves in red and gold, a wooden signpost and a fallen log set along its edge.
A squirrel pauses mid gather with an acorn in its paws, beside a small pile of nuts, a mushroom cluster and a patch of fallen oak leaves.
Pair this page with the oak leaf pattern background later in the set, using a strip of it as a narrow border glued along the top of this sheet.
How would you describe the hush of a forest in late autumn: write that answer along the bottom of this page beneath the painted deer standing at the tree line.
A fallen log hosts a cluster of small mushrooms, a patch of soft moss and a few curled fern fronds, painted leaf litter and shadow covering the ground around it.
Scenic Country Pages
A red covered bridge crosses a narrow creek lined with maple trees in full color, a single row boat tied near the bank, painted hills rising behind the valley.
The usual mistake here is painting the scarecrow too stiffly centered: set it slightly off to one side with the wheat field and a flock of distant birds filling the rest of the sheet.
A red barn stands with its doors open, pumpkins stacked beside the entrance and a hay bale leaning near the wall, painted farmland rolling out behind the barn.
A white lighthouse stands on a rocky point with sea grass bending in the wind, a scattering of fallen leaves caught against the rocks, painted gray autumn sea behind it.
Window And Porch Pages
A weathered window box holds rust colored mums, small gourds and a trailing vine, set beneath a window with lace curtains, painted brick wall behind the whole box.
Keep the five minute version of this page simple: a rocking chair, a folded quilt draped over its arm and one pumpkin on the step is enough to carry the whole scene.
A porch rail strung with small lights and a painted autumn yard behind the steps finish it off when you have more time to spend.
A tray holds a teapot, a cup of tea and a small plate of spiced cookies, beside a sprig of dried wheat and a folded napkin, painted wooden table behind the tray.
Place this page across from the lined writing page a few sheets later, so the folded letter and pressed leaf here feel like the start of an entry you continue on the next spread.
Background Papers
Scattered acorns and small oak leaves repeat edge to edge in this set’s muted palette. Use it under a photo of a woodland walk, as a plain cover sheet, or trimmed into a lining behind a heavier scene page.
A soft plaid in autumn tones repeats across the sheet like folded flannel. It works well behind a photo of a cozy outfit, as a journal cover, or cut into strips for a border on a plainer scene page.
Maple leaves drift and repeat across the whole page as if caught mid fall. Place it under a landscape photo, behind a pressed leaf, or as the first page a reader sees when the journal opens.
A small gingham check in warm harvest colors covers the page evenly. Use it as a lining behind a recipe card, a simple cover sheet, or a backdrop for a photo taken at the farm stand.
Stalks of wheat and small clusters of red berries repeat in loose rows across the sheet. It suits a cover page, a lining behind a harvest photo, or a backdrop for a pressed flower from the orchard.
Lined Writing Pages
A corner spray of wheat and small pumpkins frames faint ruled lines at the center. Use it for a gratitude list, a short note about this year’s harvest, or a line about the first cold morning.
A thin band of apples and leaves runs down the left side beside faint ruled lines. Use it for a cider recipe, a list of apple varieties tried this year, or a memory from an orchard visit.
A light frame of oak leaves and acorns borders the whole sheet around faint ruled lines. Use it for a woodland walk log, a letter to next year, or a short list of favorite autumn smells.
A knitted border of small sweaters and mittens runs along the top edge above faint ruled lines. Use it for a list of cozy things, a hot drink recipe, or notes on this year’s favorite sweater.
A curling pumpkin vine with small leaves wraps one corner of the page above faint ruled lines. Use it for a pumpkin carving plan, a guest list for a fall gathering, or a short seasonal wish list.

Frequently Asked Questions
What paper works best for this fall junk journal kit?
Matte cardstock between 65 and 110 pound weight holds the washes well without curling once glued. Heavier stock feels nicer to handle but check it still fits through your printer. Avoid glossy photo paper, since it makes the watercolor look plasticky instead of soft.
What printer settings should I use?
Choose your printer’s best or photo quality setting rather than draft or normal, so the soft bleeding edges print smoothly instead of looking banded. Select the matte or heavyweight paper type in the printer dialog if that option is available, since it changes how much ink is laid down.
What size should I print the pages?
Standard letter or A4 suits most junk journals and lets you trim down to smaller sizes easily. If your journal base is a smaller handmade size, print at a reduced scale from your printer dialog rather than cropping the file, so the whole scene stays visible on the page.
Can I color or add to these pages after printing?
Yes, a light touch of colored pencil or watercolor pencil blends in well since the printed pages already read as painted. Keep any added marks soft and close to the existing palette so the page does not look patched or mismatched next to its neighbors.
What glue works best for gluing pages into a journal?
A thin layer of glue stick or a fine tip glue pen along the edges keeps pages flat without wrinkling the cardstock. Avoid heavy wet glue straight from a bottle, since cardstock this thick can still warp if too much moisture sits on one spot for long.
