This set of kitsch Christmas paper dolls brings back the look of old glass ornaments and 1950s greeting cards, with big-eyed kittens, lambs, poodles and bears standing on two feet in their holiday best. Each one is a full character with its own funny mood, ready to cut out and glue onto handmade cards, gift tags or a busy junk journal spread.
Print on matte cardstock at actual size, then trim around each doll leaving a thin white edge so the bold outlines stay crisp. Twenty four sheets give you a full cast to mix and match all season, from a sassy poodle to a bear cub caught sneaking a peek under the tree.

Christmas Morning Crew
Cut out this winking kitten in a full Santa suit, tiny gift tucked under one paw, and glue it onto a card for the grandchild who always gets the joke first.
It also works well shrunk down on a photocopier for a gift tag, since the wink reads clearly even at a small size. Pair it with a plain kraft tag and a length of red twine for a quick finishing touch on a wrapped present.
Write a line next to this lamb about laughing so hard the earmuffs slipped, then tuck the whole thing inside a holiday card for a friend who loves a silly joke.
This pink poodle struts along in a fur-trimmed coat, nose in the air, a shopping bag of presents swinging from one paw like she just hit every sale in town.
Mount her on a foam dot over a plain card front so she lifts slightly off the page, and she makes a cheeky gift tag for the shopper in the family who never leaves a mall empty-handed.
Winter Woodland Sweethearts
Bashful and wide-eyed, this fawn wears a bell collar and a neat bow, holding out a small sprig of holly as if offering it to whoever opens the card.
Half asleep and dragging a stocking, this teddy bear in striped pajamas makes the perfect anchor for a cozy junk journal page about slow winter mornings.
Surround it with scraps of plaid paper and a strip of twine for hanging stockings, then add a short caption about not being ready to get up yet. Confident crafters can layer a second smaller bear behind it for depth.
Ringing a jingle bell with a grin that says trouble is coming, this kitten in a full elf costume suits a card for the grandchild most likely to start the mischief at the family party.
Carols and Candlelight
This lamb sings with its whole heart, head tipped back, candle glowing in one hoof, robe falling in soft folds to the floor.
Use it on a card for anyone in the church choir or community carol group, or glue it beside a strip of sheet music torn from an old hymnal for a junk journal page about caroling season.
Halo slightly crooked and chin tilted up with a knowing smirk, this poodle angel holds a gold star like it has already decided whose tree it belongs on.
Snowy Day Antics
Arms flailing and eyes wide with alarm, this bear cub on ice skates wobbles its way across the page in a cheerful bobble hat, perfect for a card that teases a friend about a shaky first skating lesson.
Beaming with delight behind a checked apron, this doe carries a tray piled with iced cookies straight from an imaginary oven.
Glue her next to a recipe card clipping on a junk journal page, or send her on a card to the baker in the family who always sends a tin home with everyone at Christmas. For a quick version, just trim around the tray and apron.
Sly grin spreading under a nightcap, this mouse tiptoes off with a single cookie crumb clutched tight, ideal for a card to someone who always finds the hidden treats first.
Deck the Halls
Tangled head to tail in a string of fairy lights, this kitten looks startled but still manages to look sweet, bulbs glowing in cherry red and mint green around its paws.
Layer it on foam dots over a dark card front so the lights seem to pop forward, and it reads as a funny card for anyone who has ever wrestled with the tree lights every single year.
Tail practically blurred with excitement, this puppy wears a bouncing reindeer antler headband and holds a bone tied with a red bow, perfect for the dog lover’s gift tag this year.
Shivering under a knitted hat with a pout that says it is far too cold outside, this duckling clutches a steaming cup of cocoa with both wings, a sweet one for a cozy winter card.
A Little Christmas Ballet
Up on tiptoe with arms raised like a sugar plum fairy, this lamb twirls in a net tutu, beaming with pure joy at its own performance.
She pairs beautifully with the choir lamb from earlier in the set on a two-page spread about a children’s Christmas pageant, one singing and one dancing across facing pages.
Head thrown back in a hearty laugh, this bear hauls a lumpy sack of toys over one shoulder in a red Santa hat, a jolly figure for the center of a busy junk journal Christmas spread.
Party Dresses and Pearls
Chin lifted and one paw on her hip, this kitten poses proudly in a velvet party dress, a single glass ornament held up like a prize.
She makes a lovely card for a friend dressed up for the holiday party season, and her pose works nicely mounted slightly forward on a craft stick for a quick stand-up table decoration too.
Hugging a walnut wrapped like a present far too tightly to share, this squirrel in a plaid vest grins with pure greedy happiness, a funny one for the friend who always claims the last cookie.
Caught mid-primp with curlers still in under her Santa hat, this poodle looks utterly flustered, hairbrush in paw and one ear askew.
Use her on a card for the friend who is always the last one ready for the party, or glue her onto a journal page about getting dressed up for a Christmas Eve dinner that never quite goes to plan.
First Snow Wonder
Tongue out and eyes wide with pure astonishment, this fawn in a snug snowsuit catches falling snowflakes, a sweet choice for the first card of the season sent to a grandchild far away.
Tall white chef hat perched just so, this cat holds up a finished gingerbread man with obvious pride, as if the whole holiday meal rides on this one cookie.
He pairs naturally with the cookie-tray doe from earlier in the set for a two-doll baking scene on a card or journal spread, one serving and one just pulled from the oven.
Ears drooping and eyes darting sideways, this puppy in a pom-pom sweater holds up a visibly chewed stocking, the sort of funny confession card that suits any family with a mischievous dog.
Quiet Christmas Eve
Eyes half closed and dreamy, this lamb in a flowing red velvet cape holds a wreath against its chest like it is already imagining the front door it belongs on.
She suits a quiet, old-fashioned card for a close friend, and layers nicely into a shabby Christmas junk journal spread among soft pastel scraps and ribbon.
Excited and wide awake past bedtime, this bear cub in a soft nightshirt peeks around a corner with a flashlight, a fun stand-up piece for a card tucked under the tree on Christmas Eve itself. For more small scenes like this, the Christmas junk journal page ideas collection has plenty of cozy nighttime pairings worth trying with the rest of this set, including ideas that work well with the Christmas cat drawing set too.
What to Do Next
Print the full set, build a little pile of kittens, poodles and lambs in their holiday best, and start sorting them onto this year’s cards, tags and journal pages while the season is still unfolding.
Frequently Asked Questions
What paper works best for these paper dolls?
Matte cardstock between 65 and 110 lb gives the cleanest cut and holds its shape well once trimmed. Avoid glossy photo paper, since it shows scissor marks more easily and can jam some home printers on heavier settings.
What printer settings should I use?
Print at actual size or 100 percent scale, never fit to page, so every doll matches the others when grouped together. Choose the best or photo quality setting for crisp outlines, and let the ink dry fully before handling.
How do I cut out the dolls neatly?
Use small detail scissors and leave a thin white edge around each outline rather than cutting exactly on the line. The white border keeps the bold shapes crisp and forgives any small wobble in a steady hand.
How can I make the dolls stand up or pop off the page?
Fold a small tab at the back of the feet to make a free-standing doll, or mount the whole figure on foam adhesive dots over a card front for a raised, three-dimensional look. Both methods take only a minute.
Can I resize the dolls for smaller projects?
Yes, shrink any doll on a photocopier or printer to tag size for gift tags, ornament toppers or small journal embellishments. Keep the file proportions locked so the big eyes and outfits stay clear at a smaller scale.
