Table of Contents
A pink junk journal comes together fast when every page already matches, and this kit gives you 37 of them: 26 full scene pages, 5 seamless background patterns and 6 lined writing pages, all in the same blush and rose palette. Bakery windows, a ballet studio, a rose garden at sunset and a vintage car by the sea sit alongside gingham, bows and stripes, so you can mix a full spread without hunting for a matching paper.
Print the whole set on matte cardstock, around 180 to 250 gsm so the colour stays rich without bleeding through, and set your printer to its best or photo quality setting. Trim each sheet to the trim size of your journal before gluing it in, and keep a small offcut as a test strip if your printer runs the pink warmer or cooler than you expect.
Using these images: free for personal projects such as printing, coloring, cards, journals and gifts. Handmade items that include them may be sold up to 30 pieces per design. More than that is commercial use and is not permitted, and neither is selling or sharing the images themselves or passing them off as your own. Please ask before any other use.
Sweet Shop Pages
Tuck a real bakery receipt or a handwritten cake order into the margin of this page before you glue it in, so the page holds a true errand alongside the painted one.
A short list works well here too: three cakes you want to bake, or three you remember from a birthday. Keep the writing small and let the window display stay the main event on the sheet.
Pair this page with the gingham background later in the set: glue the tea stand on the right page and let the gingham show on the left, so the spread reads as one counter scene rather than two separate sheets.
The usual mistake with a tiered stand like this is cramming every macaron with a hard outline, which flattens the page. Let the top tier stay loose and pale so the eye lands on the middle shelf first.
A ribbon trailing off the stand and a few scattered crumbs on the tablecloth round out the page without adding more tiers than it needs.
Garden And Roses Pages
Perfect for the journal keeper who turns to the back pages at the end of a hard day: leave the lower third empty enough for a line or two about how the day went, framed by the roses rather than boxed in by a border.
Climbing roses over an old gate give this page its shape, with a trailing vine and a pair of garden gloves left on the step.
Try the five minute version if you are short on time: glue this page in whole, skip any extra decoration, and let the painted trellis carry the page on its own while you spend the saved minutes journaling instead.
A single question works well under this one: what would you cut from your own garden today, real or imagined, and who would you give it to. Leave room beside the basket for the short answer.
Spilling pink blooms over a low stone wall, a watering can tucked at its base and a butterfly resting on one bloom give this page quiet without leaving any part of the sheet blank.
Ballet Studio Pages
Several tutus on a row of hooks, a pair of pointe shoes dropped below, and a rolled barre mat in the corner fill the page without crowding it.
Glue a real rehearsal schedule or a recital program into the margin if you have one, or leave a line for the next class you plan to take.
Worn pointe shoes with trailing satin ribbon, a small rosin box and a folded program sit together on a wooden floor, the whole page washed in a warm studio light.
A wooden barre runs along a tall window, with a cardigan hung over one end and a small potted plant on the sill; the window light is painted across the floor rather than left blank.
Seaside And Travel Pages
This page earns a tea stained edge better than most: dab the border along the horizon line so the stain reads as sun and salt air rather than age for its own sake.
A folded road map tucked at the base of the page and a pair of sunglasses on the dashboard add detail without pulling focus from the car itself.
The gift here is for anyone who loves a slow beach day: pair it with the stripe background later in the set so the umbrella and the pattern page read as one holiday spread.
A small cart stacked with pink scoops, a striped sign and a paper napkin holder sit on a boardwalk, with a few gulls painted small in the sky above.
For a quick postcard effect, write a short note straight onto the lower corner of this page before gluing it in, the way you would address a real postcard home.
An open suitcase holds a folded scarf, a small perfume bottle and a paperback novel, with a luggage tag hanging off the side for a name or a destination to fill in by hand.
Tea And Table Pages
The usual mistake with a table scene is centering the teapot and leaving the corners empty. Push it slightly off centre and let a cake stand and a vase of roses anchor the other side.
If you want this page to hold a real memory, write the name of the person you last had tea with along the tablecloth edge.
Glass doors reveal a shelf of mismatched floral teacups and saucers, a small sugar bowl and a folded doily, the cabinet wood painted warm against a soft wall behind it.
A tiered trolley carries sandwiches, a small cake and a pot of jam, rolling across a floor with a window and curtain painted softly in the distance behind it.
This is for the pages for parents in a gift journal: a plain jar of jam, a plate of toast and a small knife, the kind of breakfast still life that reads like an ordinary morning worth keeping.
Bedroom And Beauty Pages
Several glass perfume bottles stand in front of a small round mirror, with a string of pearls draped over one corner and a hairbrush resting beside them.
Place this page across from the vanity’s matching lined page later in your journal, so one sheet holds the picture and the other holds what you actually wore that day.
A round hat box sits open with tissue spilling out, a pair of silk gloves folded beside it and a single pink feather resting on the lid.
A small open jewellery box holds a string of pearls, a ring and a brooch, propped on a lace runner with a hand mirror resting just beside it.
Twenty to thirty words, one sentence: a powder compact, a tube of lipstick and a small mirror rest together on a lace cloth, painted warm against a soft dressing table background.
Cottage And Window Pages
A cottage door painted soft pink sits under a climbing vine, a watering can and a pair of wellington boots on the step beside it.
If your journal leans toward old keepsakes, this page pairs naturally with the quieter mood found in the vintage junk journal set, so borrow a page or two from there for the facing spread.
For the five minute version, glue this page in as is and skip adding anything extra: the window box itself, a pair of open shutters and a cat napping on the sill already carry the whole sheet.
A single pink umbrella rests open against a lamppost on a wet cobbled street, a small puddle reflecting soft colour below, the rest of the street painted quiet and pale behind it.
Background Papers
A wooden cart loaded with buckets of pink blooms stands at a street corner, a chalkboard price sign leaning against one wheel, a soft row of buildings painted behind it.
A single carved carousel horse, painted pink and gold, stands mid leap with a string of lights looped above it and a ticket stub resting at its base.
This page suits the younger reader in a gift journal, or anyone who wants one page of pure whimsy among the quieter garden and tea pages.
An open birdcage holds a small nest of paper roses instead of a bird, hung from a ribbon, with a few loose petals drifting below it against a softly painted wall.
Fold a real pressed flower into your own journal here if you have one, or let the painted pressed rose and the half written letter beside it stand as the keepsake instead.
Soft pink gingham checks run edge to edge with tiny bows scattered between the lines, suited to a cover, a pocket lining behind a window page, or a backdrop under a pasted photo.
Lined Writing Pages
Tiny rosebuds and leaves scatter loosely across the page with no fixed grid, so the pattern reads soft rather than printed.
Use it under a tea table photo, behind a window cut into another page, or as a simple cover for the whole journal.
Narrow pink and cream stripes run the length of the page, steady enough to use under a bakery photo, as a pocket lining, or folded in half for a simple cover sheet.
A faint lace doily motif repeats in rows across cream paper, gentle enough to sit under a teacup photo or behind a pressed flower page without competing with it.
Small dots in two shades of pink scatter evenly across the page, a simple pattern well suited to a cover, a pocket lining, or the back of a window cut page.
A trail of small rosebuds runs along the top border above faint ruled lines, room enough for a gift list, a short letter to next year, or a page of garden notes.
Small bows sit in each corner around faint ruled lines, enough room for a favourite recipe, a packing list for a trip, or a short note to a friend.
What to Do Next
Print the full set, trim each sheet to size, and lay the 26 scene pages out in the order that suits your own journal before gluing anything down permanently.
Frequently Asked Questions
What paper works best for a pink junk journal kit like this one?
Matte cardstock between 180 and 250 gsm holds the pink tones well without the ink bleeding through to the back. Avoid glossy photo paper: it shines under light and the painted washes look flat rather than soft. A slightly textured matte finish reads closest to real watercolour paper.
What printer settings keep the pink shades accurate?
Choose your printer’s best or photo quality setting rather than draft or normal, since pink tones shift toward orange or grey at lower quality. If your printer has a paper type menu, select matte or presentation paper even if you are using plain cardstock. Print one test page first and compare it to the on screen colour before printing the full set.
Do I need to trim the pages before gluing them in?
Yes, trim every sheet down to your journal’s page size before gluing, since these print at a standard sheet size and most junk journals run smaller. A paper trimmer gives cleaner edges than scissors, especially on the scene pages where the painted background runs right to the border.
Can I colour or add to these pages after printing?
Pages print in full colour and are complete as they are, but a fine tip pen works well for adding dates, names or short notes directly onto the scene pages. Avoid heavy markers or wet media on top, since the printed ink can smear under more moisture.
How do I decide which pages to use for a gift journal?
Pick scene pages that suit the person first, such as the tea table or vanity pages for someone who loves a quiet morning, then fill in with one or two background patterns for covers or page backs. Save two or three lined pages near the end so there is room left for the receiver to write their own entries.
